I bought this router to use OpenWRT. Hopefully somebody finds a way to flash it, otherwise it's a bad buy 😅

You can find older official firmware on their website. But not sure you can downgrade it or not. Then only flash openwrt. (I supposed. I don't own X5000R. Use it at your own risk.)

The OP has the same problem. He downgraded the firmware and then successfully installed OpenWRT

Has anyone set up EASY MESH with 2 units of X5000R routers?


I don't know about other users who bought X5000R and flashed it with OpenWrt.

OpenWrt 21.02.1 & 21.02.2, both version has got problems:

1) Luci GUI cannot work well with 5GHz radio. It will crash Luci

2) Wifi MAC address for the 5GHz radio displayed in OpenWrt is an incorrect number.
