1) check if got expiry date. if got means not pure honey. might even be honey flavored syrup instead

QUOTE(Chowda @ Jun 3 2019, 04:23 PM) The one way I use to identify honey is to let it set and see if it has that beehive shape. The hexagon shape can eloborate more on this? dont think i've heard this one beforeYou can fake a lot of things, you can't fake a honey's natural structure. QUOTE(Pichu00 @ Jun 3 2019, 04:31 PM) U addicted to sugar not honey, capilano brand u youtubr it up many yr ago aus tv station expose them fake honey. Another myth about honey cannot use steel spoon is total bs, go any factory u can see all steel. dont think i've heard cannot use steel to scoop honey b4. can share more info?QUOTE(keluarpattern @ Jun 3 2019, 05:35 PM) last time i bough honey supposedly made with durian flower. it did have that durian flower flavor and it did last me for about 8 years. i just kept it in kitchen and use it every now and then. never went bad but did crystalize overtime which a simple soak in warm water fixes it.cost me 20-30 rm for a 1kg container |

QUOTE(TimesOfTrouble @ Jun 3 2019, 06:13 PM) I once had fake honey in my home and I get to observe it side by side with pure honey. not necessarily fake but could have been filtered so finely that arent any pollen in it. no foreign matter = no catalyst to start crystalization. Not really fake la, but my mom believes that the fake one was honey adulterated with sugar water. After storing them for like 3 months later, the pure honey crystallized and has white residue at the bottom of the jar. Fake one doesn't. just a possibility. it could very well be a fake too |
