DDR3 would be faster. In the same case of PC RAM. Have 1GB DDR 333Mhz and a 512 DDR2 667Mhz. DDR2 would be better.  icon_rolleyes.gif

are u sure with ur statement? i thought it is the size that always matter, the timing and latency are second unsure.gif

have a question here.. will dual channel (performance..speed)differ a lot as compare to single channel? let say same amount of total ram.  hmm.gif
*
not really..u can only see the improvement by benchmarking it..
on the normal usage, u will feel like normal smile.gif

i see. how about while gaming? will it improve the performance?
*
the dual channel will, but trust me, u can barely see or feel it..after all the gaming will still depends on the good processor, graphic card and the size of the ram, not the channel mode smile.gif

hmm... ic.. just wonder how much diff with dual channel make.. after all i think the different just something like 667 and 800..or maybe less sweat.gif
thank you for sharing the info  biggrin.gif

it increase the performance actually..but sometimes the setting doesnt make sense, so we can just forget about the channel thing, and focus on the bigger size..

let say, u are currently using 512x2 (1gb dual channel in ur system), and u would like to add another 1gb ram to make it 2gb..
considering the price of 1gb ram currently, instead of buying 2 more 512mb sticks, it is better and cheaper to get only a piece of 1gb right? yes the setting wont be dual channel, which is 512mb+512mb+1gb, but all that matter is size, not the channel smile.gif

thats my 2cents..hope u can understand my statement biggrin.gif

for normal gaming (average online games) which processor should suffice? Dual core? or just the normal single core.
*
dual core is seriously cheap nowadays, unless u r really have a tight budget, then single core lor..

normal format won't clear the bad sectors, u need to perform low level format to fix it, and that's also not 100% will clear the problems

y dun u backup the datas before trying to format?
*
yeah i heard bout that. but i dun have a single idea on how to done it..

i tried to back up the data, but unfortunately, even 200MB takes 1 hour to be transferred, and in the middle of transferring, the windows hang and then blue screen appeared..after restarted, that partition is already gone and un-partitioned doh.gif
