QUOTE(DEz012 @ Mar 17 2008, 10:48 AM)
Yesterday, i was cleaning my CPU Fan so detach the fan & clean off those thermal paste but previously i put too much paste so the processor surface were a thick layer off paste. I used toilet paper to wipe it off but some of the paste went to the edge side between the processor green board & i was careless when wipe the edge & some of the paste stick on the green board. I was a bit panic & pour in alot of zippo lighter fluid to liquid those thermal paste on the processor green board & wipe it off. When pouring the zippo fluid accidently pour too much, soaking the whole surface & those thermal paste on the proc suface were liquid went all over the proccesor but lucky it didnt hit the socket of the processor.

I have clean off those paste as clean as possible but what i'm worried is that the liquid thermal paste may went inside the processor. Will there be any problems if using the processor in long terms as currently using it with no problems?
*
i dont think it will be a problem as long as the thermal paste didnt touch the processor pins.

most of the thermal paste is non electric conductive so u should not worry much if u dont mind the ugly look.

Is there any thread regarding why there's lines coming out of no where when playing game? If yes please show me, I don't know what to type if u ask me to google it, there are lines when i played game, although not really serious but kinda distracting me..
edit: 2 pics are attached to let u guys see [attachmentid=419257]
*
maybe is the game itself that cause the problem?? i plyed Q world online, it will shuttling while plying games sometimes.

if not the games itself then maybe the ur grpahic card unstable or overheating. u may try to consult the game forum for more solution and information.

malaysia electricity use 230v la....din u learn this in school>? kemahiran hidup from form 1 to 3 sure got touch on this, and even science the last i was in high school
115v is for some other countries
u switch to 115v, and plug it in, guarantee ur psu will blow immediately
*
the voltage rated at our country is 240V but actually it can support 220-240V

QUOTE(DeMoNkInG @ Mar 18 2008, 11:02 PM)
lol, i know it actuallyy.. but wonder why my psu change 3 times with different brand and different system still burn less then 6 months each? thats why im become not so convinced..
*
u use wat kind of PSU?? those below RM100 that one?? if it is then maybe is ur rig need more power than the PSU, which means ur PSU is lack for power to support the whole rig.

Thanks for the reply. If that the case, how do i make sure my old Graphic card is in safe condition? I once tried to touch the heatsink with my bare hand.
*
dont overclock it, dont ply games for too long time, change a 3rd party cooler(i dont think there's still stock for old graphic card), clean it thumbup.gif

what's the difference of a graphic card's memory DDR....

such as:
8600GT 512MB DDR2
8600GT 256MB DDR3

why DDR2.. DDR3... i don't know there are PCI-e with DDR2 or DDR3
*
DDR3 better than DDR2 becoz it offers more bandwidth, this means it is faster in term of performance.

QUOTE(felixfoo @ Mar 20 2008, 11:59 AM)
ddr 3 gives better performance compare with ddr 2 ...... n ddr3 still very new ..... if for nowdays games ... i think ddr 2 enough to support all  .....

anyway  what is raid controller ?? ...
*
misleading, i think u're confuse with system RAM and graphic memory, DDR3 is not new as most of the graphic cards today r DDR3 and some ATI graphic cards even hv DDR4

what the different between pcie x16 and pcie 2.0?
*
the simple answer will be pcie 2.0 faster than 16x.

pcie 2.0 offers more bandwidth than 16x, more data transfer, so it will be faster, not a noticeable in performance improve.

Guys, I have 2 x 1gig corsair ddr2-667 ram in my motherboard, but why when i check with sisoftware, it shows dd2-333? Any idea?

[attachmentid=423001]

u need to X2, becoz u're using DDR2, dont know it is true or not, but i know u need to multiple by 2.

the ram clock speed x2 is not becos it's ddr2 la....get ur facts right before answering la
ddr1 also same la you have to x2 like this
u get the x2 from the double in Double Data Rate (DDR) lar
for more technical explanation, read up on wiki bout ddr technology
usual symptoms, pc restart, or screen blackout during heavy graphic processing
mind u, these kind of things can spoil the hardware
*
O.o i though only DDR2 need to multiple with 2 and DDR no need, coz i've never used DDR be4 tongue.gif and speed really doesnt matter to me as a normal user, but the price brows.gif

Hey, I am currently using amd athlon x2 5000+, when my pc is idle, i check the temperature, its always around 15 degree celcius only. Is that normal? I already tried using different software to check the temperature, examples are hwmonitor and coretemp.

Thanks.

QUOTE(karthyhu @ Mar 27 2008, 07:30 AM)
15 degrees is considered very very low
*
it is weird, maybe a bug or somethings?? did u use any cooler?? coz normally we cant get 15°C even in air-con room, unless u're using dri ice, but if u use dry ice, the temperature will be a negative temperature.

QUOTE(alwizbthere @ Apr 8 2008, 07:34 AM)
SLI is the name of nvidia's version of using 2 GC or more for more processing power

a mobo that has 2 pci-e slots does not means it support sli for sure, cos there's also ATI's version, the CrossFire.

and yes, even if u have an SLI or CrossFire board, you can use any cards on it, not necessarily must have 2 GC only can run. any single PCI-e cards will usually works on SLI/Crossfire.
*
and it also can be use as dual display when SLI/CF mode disable nod.gif dual display also can be done even when both card that slot in the 2 pci-e r different card.

now i hv a question.

wat do i need to do file transferring between PC - laptop? coz i need to transfer some file to my new laptop, assume my old desktop dont hv firewire, bluetooth and wireless. i means how to transfer file and folder using wired connection?

and

wat do i need to do LAN? i mean 2 PC connect together and ply games together, like need for speed, wat type of cable do i need? assume both r using laptop, network cable will do?

lastly

wat is firewire and wat it's function?

New here, asking simple question.

What i rig means??
*
if u ask "rig" in this section, it means ur whole PC, normally pointed to the spec of ur PC

for exmaple
i hv 3 rig....

A: wat's ur rig?
B: AMD quad core
16GB RAM DDR3 1044MHz
1000GB SSD HDD
9800GX2 1GB DDR4 SLI
40" LCD monitor
A: wow.......

Added on April 10, 2008, 10:02 amanother question, my laptop there hv 2 DDR2 RA slots, i've added another 1GB RAM to the laptop, so now i hv 2GB RAM, another 1 GB is from the manufacturer, but when i buy it, the paper there write the laptop max RAM is 2GB, i question is here, can i slot in 2x 2GB RAM to my laptop to become 4GB? can it detect?

Lowyat got sell. Try Sri Computer, you say you want the LAN cable that connects PC to PC, not PC to modem/router. I bought mine there, should be yellow colour. That is the LAN crossover cable.

Note: Colour might change.
*
LAN cable now same with the PC - router/modem cable meh? i gt 1 is yellow colour, the "mouth" there r wider than those telephone line one.
