Beli used car je sis. No need new one. Later can go kia outside workshop instead of service center.

long gone are those days were kia is considered least durable car... those who say otherwise are probably not owners or live in the past (where kia spectre era)...

after owning cerato for 5+ years, only claimed once power window button not smooth... other than that, just normal service and wear and tear...

just get the car you like... if you care about RV, like someone said, better dont get car... unfortunately Msian still have that mentality where jap > all... thus kimchi car RV and sales still bad in Msia...

How's the service center? Good after sales service?

Its a good car, I own one since 2014. KIA service centre is also good and parts are available and cheap at KIA Power Segambut. Its comfortable and quite powerful for a 1.6 litre engine. No major issues in 5+ years. My next car will also be a KIA or Hyundai.

And you should stop insulting the K3 by comparing it to third world only cars like Vios & City.

But kevin23 say KIA cars no "soul".

The truth is most cars have no soul. Among what was listed though, IMO the K3 has the most soul. People looking for soul will not look at these cars lah I think.

if cerato as good as some claim, t hen this 50k can be well spent. maybe can get more discount even.

Been using since 2010 forte till now, no major problem. Would not hesitate to consider another new Kia, provided their incoming design and pricing remains attractive. Alot of people who never use Kia car like to bash it because they hear it from someone who heard it from someone.

1.6cc how to move the car?

My car optima gt bought 1 year plus ago. Interior way better than most D segment cars. Can smoke Mercs and BMW too. And so far no issue except this car is too sporty for me, feel very bumpy and drive like a go kart car, probably due to stiff suspension n low profile tyres PS3. Now changed all for tyres to the comfortable type, this car is the best car i ever owned. Long journey 5 hours wahlau dont feel tired at all. Im gonna use it for at least 7 years.

Officemate bought cerato couple of years ago, not much complaint except the car consumes energy from battery dat he have to replace less than a year and disable auto welcome seat

Suddenly GT gathering.

U dont tipu, baru 1 week buy new, CEL keluar. O2 sensor rosak.

Almost 2 years now, issue free. For 86k, other than that stupid frustrating cheap china head unit, really worth it.

if compare with B segment just get Cerato. it is C segment space and comfort level is different.
if compare with other C segment, take Cerato if you are on budget. value for money.

But i don't like Cerato interior. Too roundish. Topup abit get Elantra

And Kinchi car resale value not that good but also not that bad. Same like Proton. Is not anywhere near as worse as VW. Check my thread

yesterday at bazar nearby my area. i see one girl (around secondary school maybe) rush towards his father Kia Sportage (dont know what year but looking at design it maybe 2011-2016 car, but look new). she pull out the rear door until the door handle broken.LOL i laugh so loud but inside my car only la..hahahahah
WTF>first time i see pull out door handle until broken.LOL. maybe the car in locked state. but she pull too hard LOL

then this morning i try to search for door handle kia sportage broken. wow so many cases already happen. no wonder la..at first i tought that girl got superpower tenaga batin kuat one. LOL

so funny after that his father came out from car and geleng kepala LOL...
seriusly KIA design is new to see. if me i will buy cerato too. but i will make sure my kids behave .LOL

Driving a 2015 Cerato K3 1.6, clocked 150,000km this month
Definitely a value-for-money car, if compared to other rivals.. C-Segment car with B-segment pricing.

What I like:
- design. for each his own but 8 out 10 people i asked agreed the car looks good
- lots of features, future proof for at least another few years
- lots of safety features. 6 airbags, ESC, EBD and so on. How I wish it has Blind Spot monitoring too
- Comfortable

What I dun really like:
- not the best handling car. after all this is marketed as a family sedan so....
- 1.6 feels a lil bit sluggish. can go for 2.0 for more umpphhh but roadtax will be higher (RM280/ year vs RM90/year for 1.6)

Common problems:
- battery not really tahan. changed mine 4x times already. Naza gave lousy battery last time
- clock spring problem, usually can claim so no problem about it
- people asking "why buy Kia? why no buy Godcar? Later no spare parts, no amoi, besi buruk RV etc"

If you live in big cities like KL/PG/JB should be no problem for service centre and parts availability.. if in rural area maybe a bit of a problem.. anyhow it is a good buy provided you are looking for a comfortable sedan for daily use and not for spirited driving..

When u say handling is not that good is lack of power or the car couldn't corner well or is it floaty ??

Owner of cerato since 2013. overall its a good value car.no major problem for me aside from clock spring.FOC if claim withn warranty period. around 300++ if no longer have warranty.

For me its handling just so so only compared to my Civic FC. Civic way better in term of handling

accessory is good for its price. only complain its HU display china OEM unit

When u turn your car into corner, u feel car move together.
Some car when u point steering in that direction, the car doesn't follow 100%

Mine around 5k km. Now when turn got duk duk duk sound.

my experience on korean cars

- build = ok
- speed = ok (can tapau most cars on the road)
- spare parts availability = easy
- petrol = it eats a lot of petrol (my gf's myvi only need to pump 1 full tank about RM100 for 1.5 weeks, but i need to pump once or twice a week even since the beginning)

Guk duk duk is a Korean dish. So it's normal.

I think there is something wrong with your car. You said go Pasir Gudang also need to refill petrol.
My K3 1.6 if travel outstation on highway cruising speed can get between 600 to 700km for a full tank. Normal mixed city + highway about 500 - 550km. KL to pasir gudang is less than 400km.
Is yours a 1.8 or 1.6? You should be getting even more mileage on 1.8 using highway. But whichever variant it is, there is something wrong with your car and you should check it out.

Our cars both have the same engine, mine is also a 1.6 2014 model. So if there is nothing wrong with your car, then it means that your foot is too heavy
This is the 4th 1.6 litre car I've had (only 1 is Korean) and the fuel consumption are all in the same ballpark. So Korean cars having high fuel consumption is not really true. Obviously milo tin below 1 ton kerb weight cars will be more fuel efficient, but at the cost of safety.

This is my FC during balik kampung earlier.. 400km only half tank.. but i've been very light on throttle.. maintain 90-110km/h only.. 90% highway 10% state road..

car superb even use more than 5 years.

feel still like new car since technology still relevant.

maintenance? easy to find parts. after market service and also got many good foremen today.

KIA SC. i always use PJ SC or MPV batu caves and they after sales service excellent.

Top speed 190Kmh - 210kmh
Handling - feel ok. not racing person. (maybe strut bar can solve if got handling issues)
