You can just remove the dummy drive and either install a 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD or an M.2 NVMe SSD
You have to choose one of them, can't have both

I myself installed a 1 x 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD & 1 x 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD on my younger brother's Legion 5

im getting below. and i can install a newly bought SN550 1TB SSD from WD in the dummy slot right?

Yes you can. But if you choose dual NVMe SSD setup, you will get a bigger battery of 80Wh vs the original 60Wh

Yup. But sadly, you can't mix and match. IE, 256GB NVMe + 1TB NVMe or 512GB NVMe + 1TB NVMe. Both has to be the same capacity
Also, make sure you pick M.2 2280. Not M.2 2242

Differences:
M.2 2242 - Doesn't have DRAM
M.2 2280 - Has DRAM

thanks for the detailed heads up thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

anyway was curious, both below are same price, why would they put the option of DRAMless SSD if both are same price and people will of course for DRAM SSD?
