Looking at the E14 Gen 5 AMD and wow is it expensive. RM 6k for something decent.
Seems like not able to get something relatively new and decent for 3k anymore.

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Feb 20 2024, 04:40 PM) Blame Ringgit Malaysia for that. Ideapad 5i with i5-13500H, 16GB ram can be had for ~3.5k. Meanwhile Thinkbook with i5-1335U, 32gb ram, 100% sRGB is around 4.5k. Now, there's no choice but to opt for the slightly downgraded product line, namely the ThinkBook. Nevertheless, it's still miles better than the IdeaPad product line though. The Thinkbook specs are more futureproof, but will likely wait for a major discount code. |

QUOTE(1024kbps @ Apr 8 2024, 08:38 PM) for lenovo, usually nothing to shout about How are the temperatures when idle, browsing/watching movie and when gaming? Able to survive in local climate in non airconditoned room with only ceiling/standing fan?but the software can limit your battery charge to 80% to extend the life span, cooling wise you need cooling pad, as the laptop can become very hot. screen are hard coated with matte finish, the model i bought have 2 usb-c and 2 usb-a. for camera if you're picky you better try it before purchase, the one i bought camera is worse than smartphone made 10 years ago the dell lappy i use for work has way better camera in terms of image quality, have front and back too. |

QUOTE(1024kbps @ Apr 12 2024, 09:22 PM) thin lappy usually is hotter due to puny heatsink, when the heat has nowhere to go it will transfer to keypad/touchpad, can be doubled as handwarmer in winter ! Shame that the Ryzen 5 model only has configuration up to 16gb ram. Need to get Ryzen 7 model for 32gb. Getting 32gb ram pushes thus model to rm4.5k. not cheap. At this price I'm thinking maybe add top up to get LOQ with 4060 GPU for 5.5k. in Malaysia your palm and finger will be sweaty for watching movie such as youtube should be fine as it's only using tiny amount of resource, gaming is another heat beast that hard to tame. All so expensive.. haiz.. |

QUOTE(chkwong @ May 20 2024, 08:13 AM) Really depends on what value you see. 4.5k? When are sales usually?IMHO, get the outgoing models. Those are the best bang for the bucks. This model when outgoing then may cost less than 4-4.5k during sales.. Your wallet your choice ya. There will be always a better model when time comes. |
