Amps/Pedals A Clean Volume Booster, can a compressor act as a booster?

Need A Clean volume booster for lead guitar drive-in / chorus part. After googled tht, found a few, cheapst 1 there still is behringer
   but the price for a pedal just for changing the volume, is that too much? So I was wonder can I get a compressor pedal and use it as a booster, is the volume loud enough to give the guitar solo a nice boost?  This post has been edited by Giant: Jun 25 2007, 06:49 PM |

sometime for clean boost, koz my screamer even the gain knod turned all the way down, still got a little bit of gain....the tune is not clean...

normaly EQ is place after the distortion 1 rite?
