Really surprising news..Pepe..wow.
Now we have RW. I wonder if we still have another attacking player coming, where all that Everton Soares rumors gone?
But where is new CB? Koscielny is as good as gone. Takkan nak defend with Mustafi-Sokratis? Double redcard magnet. 🤔

The thing is if Unai decided NOT TO GET a new CB, it means he wants to train them hard enough and improve them. Next year Saliba will play for Arsenal.

I for one surely understand why Unai is having "faith" with the current CBs.

Buying a new CB will take time to glue them. So Unai wants to avoid this. Make the best of what you have got.

Don't think we have spent that much over our budget to be honest. Despite the huge fees being touted we don't really pay all that much upfront.

Saliba - Installments
Ceballos - Loan fee
Pepe - Installments
Tierney - Upfront + installments

Ceballos loan fee isn't earth shattering and as for Tierney, he is only going to cost around 25 mill. Upfront I'm hearing around prolly 15-20 mill at most?

Now if we can find a good CB from a club willing to accept an installment payment structure we will still not run very far from our budget as well.

But if we fail to qualify for the UCL next season again then we are royally F*cked as we will most likely have a transfer budget as small or smaller than this season, and the due payments of these installments will eat up into our transfer budget for next season which could probably leave us with a big fat ZERO in our bank account for new players if we fail.

Failure to qualify for the CL is really not an option next season IMO.

how many big fee transfers are paid in cash full? I guess those transfers are mostly installment...

for CB, maybe just sign cahill for free, we will have saliba next season..

Noooooo no thanks, no Cahill please. We need to stop becoming a retirement home.

We will see. I am keeping my fingers crossed Unai will sign a first team ready CB.

I dont watch enough Ligue 1 to know much about this Nicolas Pepe.

In fact i didnt even know if he's black, white or purple. Did a little search for his youtube clip, and this popped out

Of course, Mustafi could even be a VVD on youtube , but damm he looks like a fricking good winger that we have missed for years!!! Can't even think of any worldclass natural winger in our squad since the Ljungberg/Pires generation!

I'm not going to care about that ridiculous 80mil price tag (im not the one paying anyway biggrin.gif ), just bring the man in and get ready for next season!

Our negotiator really doing a great job here..how the hell raul can nego with that clubs to accept our installment payment and we not the only club chasing this players..
Dont worry about not qualify again in CL next season because we was famous doing this before : selling our star players but now not for stadium..to run the club and also for our emperor kroenke..

Looks like a good signing although his physical appearance does remind me of Abou Diaby #touchwood #fingercrossing

To think we outbid other clubs and offers something even better haha. 80m + 10m bonus lagi. Not including other money for agents and etc too. Napoli said it's impossible to beat. Even if installment it's still a very good business. For the other club as well as for us.

I don’t think clubs these days would pay transfer fees in one lump sum payment.

It’s always better to pay by installments after factoring in things like inflation, sponsorship deals. The only question is how many years of installements.
