1) If CHINA COMMUNIST GOV didnt allocate budget to subsidize those small dealers, they cant sell world wide, its not the world LOVE china, the world love cheaper products.

2) Tariff on import goods is very common in third world countries to protect local entrepreneurs, try to buy any import cars in malaysia, 100%-200% tariffs as well.
(and only the rich can spend on import goods, that is how gov tax on the rich)

US can learn how China cooperate with their smaller enterprise instead.
But too bad Trump try to shift all blame on China and try to make China the scapegoat for their worsen economy.

country is developed and wage is high, it can never compete with cheap labor wage somewhere else in the world. be it china or vietnam or india or africa. and robotics and automation only helps the boss income but not the job opportunities and income of unskilled people within usa. such is laws of basic economics.

China is moving upward in terms of production, technology and other areas. Some of that will crash/compete with US or western world directly, which mean the whole western world will not have the advantage they enjoyed for decades.

Times has change. Instead of fight like gentlemen and follow the rules set by themselves (western world), they will not hesitate to use dirty trick. Above is the almighty electric tricycle . No it's not tuk tuk, it's electric bike using acid batt, which soon will be replaced by lithium.

They are on pedestrian walkway, main roads, residential area, etc. Easy maneuver small and can pack up to 300-400kg.

It's cheap, easy to maintain, and most of them riders don't even have road legal driving license to operate.

Back to your question as to why DHL and FEDex more exp.

1.Legality. the use of elec tricycle on the road is very much in grey area. It's more on provincial ruling and even that is not very clear. Company like dhl will be at huge disantage to play with such insecurities against big local company in China.

2.big trucks have many restrictions on roads in China. Unlike other countries, China road have almost one HD camera on every 5-6 lamppost apart. You will get SMS for your summons probably 15 minutes after you are travelling on the road. Road police will ensure that you will never pass the next toll.

3.costa. Self explanatory

It's not so much of the question whether the government subsidize the courier service, but more on the government role to support creative solution and practicality. It comes with disadvantages because these bikers are sometimes annoying as fck travelling on pedestrian walkway. But I guess u can figure out my point by now.


And before everyone jumped on the bandwagon saying trump is stupid because yadayadayada copy pasta from Facebook, CNN, ABC, etc, try to look more into the issues and view it from his perspective. He is doing the necessary. And do note that last 1-2 year ago president Xi has changed the country ruling where he can rule China for almost eternity. One must remember China is communist. They can just do what ever they want on it's business. Your money is not your money is belongs to country. They will have easy control on it's companies.
