are you on 64bit windows? if you are, then 4GB would be ok, but for 32bit OS, 2GB is ideal.

AMD wont use DDR3 untill it is mature just like how DDR2 did. the shanghai core of AMD will be supporting DDR3 and it will be out H1 next year. the desktop variant will be around H2 08. so u wont get any DDR3 K10 platform untill mid - late next year.

*by the way, K10 offers 15% average performance increment clock for clock over K8. the performance increment isnt that overwhelming, but its power efficiency is greatly enhanced. it's kinda mix feeling after seeing how this K10 perform.
