i saw one hamster has different eye color, black on the left and red on the right.. hmm i thought it has sore eyes or maybe its genetic ??

can i feed them cabbage? also, wat other human food can they eat? trying to cut cost ere but at de same time provide them wit good nutrition..

so far i noe sources of protein r hard-boiled egg white, cooked chicken..

currently i'm feeding them rolled oats n dried corn only.. they like de oats but wanna give them a diff food, so tat got balanced diet..

Err... not mine. My Jack Jack is dark ruby eye. One of jack Jack's sibling - Shakira is having bicolor eye.

Also just got back from PD. There is an aquarium shop selling hamsters. Mostly all are golden and cream banded but there is 2 female sable banded about 2 months old from Johor. The owner of the shop is new to hamsters is breeding the 2 sables with a pure white syrian in the same small cage. All the hamster are fed with fish pellets    

The 2 sables look like they are pregnant but not sure. Wanted to rescue the sable as their fur is nice and pure but the owner insist on selling both together. In the end just left without rescuing the sables as we are unable to take care of them if they are really pregnant and gave birth to 2 liters of hamsters    

The owner just use a ruler to poke the hamsters.    

There is also a bin at the back of the shop with about 30-40 very young syrians about few weeks old. They all are malnutrition from the fish pellets.

New addition to the family - Sable banded without a name yet. Saw him in Giant Cheras just now. Very tame like Jack Jack We think he is about 4 months old as he is slightly smaller than Jack Jack. He is temporary staying in Habitrail Safari until we get him a bigger home.

But why his testicles are big and saggy?    

can we feed dried mealworm to hamster? i saw a mealworm packet of food for hamster.

hmmm.. i've read sumwher in tis thread got ppl recommend rolled oats compared to instant oats.. so i tot can feed them wit rolled oats? n also some ppl say tat nuts contain unnecessary fat/oil.. sumore cabbage is stated in de first page of tis thread..

Yeap, I think Fumoffu is thin also, now I'm trying to make him fat and round by giving everything I think the best for him, included fresh, pure prestige, organic powder, dog food, water with vitamin drops, and etc etc...  Hope I can have a fat fat black banded soon.

Dehydration can cause saggy testicles????      So what should I do except give him water and more fresh Will this cause any injury to the testicles? Is it hurt when he walk with the testicles dragging on the floor? I don't think he can hide it anywhere with his fur also cause it just too big, obviously, it's a HE!!! 

my syrian doesnt sneezes alot, today only one or two time when he woke up. not that often. maybe because of the bedding? i use only delikate right now.

just wondering.. 
is dried mealworm and mealworm same thing??

or dried mealworm is the one in cube size??

dried 1 is less in nutrition bah for most food dried stuff ofcos is not tat good compare to fresh rite     

Guys, my syrian just got raped.. D'oh.. What should i do next? And how to know whether she got pregnant or not?

Happy New Year people! Have some news:

1. I think Mini is not pregnant lah, haha. She doesn't look pregnant anymore and no pups also. I think she just getting fat, despite the nesting behaviour.

2. Bought Sanko wild wheel 21cm in Singapore!! MoFo is loving it! Got it bit cheaper than here, cost me RM55, hehe.

3. I LOST MY N95 8GB in Singapore. It was stolen. So sien.

Hmm I actually already replied to this, but my post is lost, haiyak.
Anyway, I just leave them for 2 days, I just leave enough food and water for the 2 days I am away. Came back at 2am and faster put more food and gave MoFo his new wheels. Heheh...
I got cheaper because got discount at the Pets Lover Center, if not same price also I think. When I went there, only 1 Sanko 21cm wheel left. Maybe cheaper at smaller petshop but i just saw only 1... but no 21cm wheel, just the 17cm sanko wheel there.

MoFo is dark ruby I think... it doesnt look black but not also really red. So I think it's dark ruby on his right eye, pink on his left eye

natural teeth color of hamsters are YELLOW. Hahahah, I also quite shocked when I first time saw MoFo very yellow teeth... LMAO.

Thanks for the info reanne As it happened she didnt give birth or she might have but she ate them when I was away for 2 days  But I dont see any blood whatsoever, so it is still a mystery. But whatever it is, I am very glad she doesnt have babies too, more because of her sake than mine.

After few readings and reanne's info here, I gather that my babies are:

1. MoFo - Long hair cinnamon banded male syrian
2. Mokie - Long hair golden banded male syrian
3. Mobee - Short hair sable banded male syrian <-- but the sable like tak jadi, it's more brownish-greyish?
4. Mini - Long hair cream banded female syrian

Added on January 1, 2008, 8:59 pmOh my lord! I just discovered something about Mini. IT'S A HIM!!!!! LMFAO. For the first time I saw his balls! OMG. I never saw it before until just now!! Sigh. But it does look bit red tho... hmmm, could it be a tumor?

Mini was smaller than Mokie when I first got them, now they are about the same size and Mini's balls are bigger than Mokie. It looks like balls for sure but no hairs and red.

Now... I wonder if Mobee is really a male cos I can't see his balls yet. Err....

I DID! The holes WERE closer until I thot she was pregnant. Then no babies, the stomach area bit smaller and then wallah! BALLS. RED NON HAIRY BALLS.
But it doesnt matter if I was wrong Because they are syrians and they are infact need to be separated anyway, so no harm done. It's not like they are dwarfs and missexing means you end up with pups, since they can live together. And the fact I am not a breeder and never intended to be one makes no difference at all... I am perfectly fine with all boys anyway.

Hahah, no... he will not be a shemale altho I will keep calling him Mini, lol. Too late for a name change and I love the name and it kinda suits him... Mini hamster with max balls, LMFAO.

What is the color of Mobee? Is he a long hair or short hair?
When I first got him, he was about 4-6 weeks old... he has more brownish color (but I cant find brown banded syrians).
As he grows older... his fur became darker and you can see greyish blueish color coming out (head, body). He still has that brownish undercoat tho, on parts of his body. This a week old pics, he has more of that greyish-blueish tint now.
