QUOTE(Qutub @ Nov 19 2020, 02:35 PM) What is happening to Sapura Energy Berhad?? Despite receiving billions of ringgit this year yet the share price is between MYR0.13 sen. Why? Market no longer interested in SEB? SEB just announced a change of guard with the coming DMAT as MD & CEO and the departure of VA, CMM, and DKA. Massive gigantic debts. U buy, ur money goes to pay that, nothing else

Not going in O&G anymore.

I'm looking at Delium. The financials look okay considering the situation with O&G at the moment. Are there any issues with the company?

QUOTE(icemanfx @ Nov 19 2020, 05:38 PM) Do you know debts they have? I am aware of high gearing but Sapura is supported by PNB and EPF as well as the local banks. Their assets valued MYR15 billion. Sapura is still in the business and was awarded billion ringgit of contracts. Could be that's not enough to assure the company can comeback?

There is cases under investigation by SPRM on several companies. Previously on FPSO case and now on MCM contract.

DMAT will be able to turnaround the company? He is ex-MD & CEO of Shell Malaysia. VA who was said to be involved in the PETROBRAS bribery case is leaving.

How realistic is the assets valuation? how much profit could make from contracts awarded? pnb and epf hold this shares for many years and didn't prevent it to drop from peak.

QUOTE(Taikor.Taikun @ Nov 23 2020, 11:26 PM) No thanks. Talk to me after the turnaround Sapura Energy is the 4th in the world doing Offshore Construction after 1. Saipem, 2. Technip, 3. McDermott 4. Sapura Energy. So far the only Malaysian company that can go international. It is sad to see if Sapura Energy liquidate to pay all its liabilities.

Not sure if the evaluation of the assets reflects the current value. Also, many of the projects in India and Brasil are not making. I heard they underquoted and planning to have the VO. Those who handle International EPCIC Projects are Indian from India and they have good experience winning the project. They are the ones that brought Sapura Energy to the overseas markets. Could be TS Shahril got the wrong advice from the team. By logic, TS Shahril surely aware of the situation getting bad since 2017 and will be selective in his participation in International Projects.

I am hoping the price will increase but it seems impossible to me. The price lingers around MYR 0.13 - MYR0.23 sen since the year 2017.

Underquoted is desperate and risky, often end in financial disaster. This post has been edited by icemanfx: Nov 27 2020, 12:23 AM

Already starting to make some profits. It will not go back to 2.80 tho, but from current price levels, I think double to triple is possible if oil price recovers. The thing is, a lot of ppl got burned by this stock and gave up. Investors will be wary and it will take a while to prove itself. I don't own it though. My oil exposure is via Hibiscus Petroleum. Now waiting to see QR, fingers crossed. This post has been edited by Cubalagi: Nov 27 2020, 08:39 AM

On HIBI, I bought it at MYR1.00 but now only MYR0.70 sen. It is hard to believe the OPEX of HIBI is at US$15-20/bbl with a total production of 7.5 million boe/day for the North Sabah field whereas many fields in Malaysia are US$40.00/bbl. The cost is high because of the oil coming from offshore.

Bought MHB, Sapura, Bumi Armada and Serba Dinamik last month. Managed to offload all when price up after vaccine news from Pfizer out. Average profit around 5-7% for all counters.
If u can hold long, then definitely worth it. Armada and MHB I believe can easily recovers in future.

QUOTE(spoon2272 @ Mar 9 2021, 11:51 PM) How about Velesto?Good to recover? I'm not familiar with the background of Velesto but the O&G stocks look good to recover based on fundamentals. Assuming the oil prices stay high ($60+) then these companies should be good to recover towards prepandemic levels. For specific stocks, you'd need to take a deep dive into their business and make sure they are the right one for you.
