Hi TS, my requirements are quite similar to @faizalar above:

1. Budget : <RM4K
2. Usage : Some gaming [Football Manager, older games such as Red Alert 3 etc]
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Was looking at Illegear's Raven SE and Acer Predator Triton 300... Price range for both are quite close but Illegear has some options to customise... Any other recommendations?

For Illegear, their Xmas promo looks mightily impressive - free 16GB DDR4 ram upgrades, might opt for i7 instead of i5 and wondering whether should opt for GTX1650 vs GTX1050.

Thanks sifus!

Preferred max weight and min battery life? Max budget is RM4k?
*
Hi there - no preference on weight. Battery life probably at least 2-3 hours [is this too optimistic?] without access to charger.

Currently eyeing either Level51 or Raven SE but open to suggestions as well.

Yes. ideally would like to keep the price below RM4K if possible.

Thanks. thumbsup.gif

Mind low sRGB 60Hz display?
*
Yes, shouldn't be a major turnoff if I'm not able to experience 144Hz displays. Haha. Although tempting. Not really aiming to play any AAA games nor do any major photo editing stuffs on my laptop. biggrin.gif

Lenovo Legion Y7000 SE customize: apply code LENXCIMB and 6% Shopback
If you prefer more subtle look, Y540 customize with same discounts applied, but pricier

Or Illegear Raven SE
*
This is on Lazada or Shopee?

Thanks a lot for the suggestions bro!

Y7000SE? Customize from Lenovo website

You're welcome
*
Done. Took the plunge this morning and opted for the Lenovo Y7000SE...

The coupon helped a lot in my final decision between the Raven SE and Lenovo...

In the end, the discounts offered by the coupon was far too attractive as after the customisations - I still managed to save up to RM1.4K! wub.gif

Thanks again for the suggestion!

Let me know if possible after you've received the laptop

Sure thing!

Hopefully not a long wait. I noticed the website recorded my order date as 25/12 though. Is it cos they are following US timezone?

Hi, is that after you order they will send you email immediately?
*
Yes. I received the order email within a few mins once payment went thru.

My credit card has yet to reflect the deduction though, although the site did mention it may take up to 3-5 working days for it to be reflected. Anyways, the order was dated 25th [Christmas] although I did it early 26th morning. Haha. Order is still under the 'Order' stage though so likely will only see it after 1st week of January 2020 hopefully!

Can i ask what is the difference in Lenovo - Y530 Y7000 Y740 Y540????????? any difference if customise?
*
If not mistaken, whilst waiting for sifu ZM Fong to revert, Y530 is last year's model, whilst Y7000 is current. As for the other 2, likely it's different entry price range... I did look at Y530 as well previously.

OK, because yesterday I pay ady but no received the email and bank no deduction so I donno whether is payment fail or what?
*
If I'm not mistaken, once you make payment, you should receive a 2 emails - first is from Customer Services with your Order #, and a 2nd one from Lenovo with the same order # in the subject, with tracking details.

If you used credit card, did you receive any sms to confirm that the amount has been paid? Maybe gotta check spam folder just to be safe.

Hi bro,

Just an update - tracking details just provided yesterday night - so give or take, about 2 weeks since I placed my order on 26/12 early morning to have it manufactured, and probably another 2-3 days to have it delivered to me.

Checked UPS, it's being delivered from Hefei.

Hopefully able to receive it by Friday at least. wub.gif

LENXCIMB not allowed for black

The voucher really comes in handy. It sorta sealed the deal when I was contemplating either the Y7000SE and Illegear's Raven SE. Both were almost similar but after I specced the Lenovo and applied the voucher, the price almost became a no-brainer for me to opt for that instead.

Of course, forgoing the 144hz screen option meant I kept my outlay to < RM4K which was the ideal outlay I had envisioned.

As for the waiting time, from my own experience currently, I placed an order [customised not ready made] on 26/12 and they shipped it out last night, so give or take about 2 weeks [since year end hols and stuff]... I hope to receive it by Friday 10/1 though. Fingers crossed! icon_rolleyes.gif

I'll revise it to hopeful of receiving it by next Wednesday then - 15/1.

Still in time before CNY! wub.gif

Haha. Unlikely.

Will bring my 3DS/Switch with me.

Laptop likely at home for mini-gaming sessions.

Can't wait to start my Man Utd save on Football Manager 20. brows.gif

Bro, just curious on the below:

Was checking the status of the shipping and noticed the following.

Is this a normal message to get when the products are being shipped in?

user posted image

Or everyone else has the same status whenever tech products reaches Customs...

Ah, awesome!

Sirim certification.

Did cross my mind how it will be done too - guess this post above clarified things.

At least it's safely in Malaysia now and hopefully on track to receive it next week as shared by bro ZM Fong earlier!

Thanks. Already gotten clarification from TS' sharing earlier.

Just checked the status over the weekend, clearance from Customs was done on the same day.

Excited to receive the laptop soon! thumbsup.gif

Wow, thanks for sharing.

Will try to see if it works brows.gif

Btw, bro ZMFong, apologies as I haven't had much time to try out thermal testing. For me, the laptop seems to work fine and not so into thermals after your blogs have helped me with the initial setup. biggrin.gif
