i'm considering the options below and would appreciate any suggestions/advice.
usage mostly at home so portability is not really a concern. will be sharing with the kids for their online learning while i wait for the ryzen 4000 desktop chip to build a proper gaming rig at the end of the year.
amazed by the new amd chips and therefore only considering ryzen builds
TUF A15 - MYR 5,899 4900H / 16GB / 1TB / RTX 2060
ROG G14 - USD 1,450 4900HS / 16GB / 1TB / RTX 2060MQ
looking at models available now as the family mbp has just died and need to be replaced.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ May 31 2020, 11:51 AM) Avoid A15 due to poor cooling, price also not that competitive TBH Only get G14 if you really need 14 inch How long you can wait? Dell gaming laptops nowadays are mediocre...... hope to get it within the next 2 weeks.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Jun 1 2020, 05:32 PM) May I know your budget? Usage? Any preferences on weight and battery life? Sorry i wasn't clear. Budget RM7000. plan to use it for gaming while my kids can also use it for their online learning and also function as the 'family' laptop. i'm waiting for the new ryzen desktop chip to build a proper game rig at the end of the year. usage will be mainly at home so i'll say performance:value > weight > battery life. as a mac user for the past 15 years, i'll be happy to be able to game at med/high settings on FHD.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Jun 1 2020, 11:19 PM) Technically should work If you're set on these 2 options, I would go for Selenite due to excellent cooling It's fine Preferred max weight in kg and min battery life in hours? (rough figures will do) weight - <2.5kg Battery - 6-7 hours

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Jun 4 2020, 09:42 AM) Since there are no Ryzen gaming laptops with 1660Ti/2060 and 6-7 hrs battery life (for now), you might want to consider Intel options or continue to wait Lenovo Legion 7i: use code LENXCIMB Illegear Selenite Pro thank you for your help!
