QUOTE(ZM Fong @ May 11 2020, 02:51 PM) Actually aldy got reviews for Clevo NH5xAC/AD/AF (Notebookcheck, China review websites...). TL;DR: Decent cooling (similar thermals compared to N95xRC/RD), can handle 60-65W CPU and 115W GPU under CPU+GPU stress (GPU no thermal thottling), very loud fans Ah haven't notice got similar reviews... Very loud fans, that means may need to undervolt it? |

QUOTE(DJJD @ May 19 2020, 05:04 PM) There is, but you need to scroll for the >RM5k options. Ya I just found that the only model that provide 144hz screen in customization are LEGION Y740-15IRHG.For that price, you may as well wait for the new Zephyrus G15 with AMD 4000 and 1660Ti. Much better than the outdated Legion 540 IMHO. I am still waiting for Lenovo and Acer new laptop. The Asus laptop I remember I had saw review on not so good cooling so I will skip that laptop. Edit: I saw review from here: https://www.ultrabookreview.com/37011-asus-...rus-g15-review/ This post has been edited by okw1: May 19 2020, 05:10 PM |

QUOTE(DJJD @ May 19 2020, 06:27 PM) Serious question: I see lots of weight placed on thermal (here and also elsewhere) but isn't it just so much cheaper and convenient to buy cooling pad for your laptop? A good one can lower your CPU and GPU temp by between 5-10 degrees. The thermal system inside works to remove the heat directly from CPU and GPU as many as possible, the cooler you mentioned should be work as an addition to the thermal system, not as the main. Unless you take out the back cover of your laptop and build your custom cooling system, or the laptop should have the thermal system inside by default. You can buy a decent coolermaster fan pad with aluminium surface and turbo 1800rpm fan for less than RM150 on Lazada. For me, isn't value for money and decent display (you can't change or add on display easily - even if you buy second screen its neither simple nor light to carry, plus its expensive!) more important than thermals? |

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ May 21 2020, 10:54 AM) Wow where you have this information? Ask the Lenovo staff?Anyway means that those who not so urgent need to wait for at least 2 months+ (Lenovo China had also not yet start to sell AMD with 1660ti/2060), quite a long time to wait for.... |

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ May 28 2020, 12:42 PM) Quite worth if you ask me, but slightly more expensive than Y540 even with code Well it is new version, so expected a little bit more expensive. If this code is usable in next month with any debit/credit card, maybe I will buy it. The AMD version with high end graphic card is still long time to wait though... Anyway thanks for your opinion This post has been edited by okw1: May 28 2020, 12:46 PM |

QUOTE(danieln @ Jun 1 2020, 10:49 AM) just got my unit Ah no wonder the code got the "CIMB" keyword.... That puzzled me all the time...it appears that the LENXCIMB is the highest discount code they have and its meant for CIMB staffs. so be smart la when they ask you if you are a staff. also confirmed you can use any card to make the payment. Lenovo will ask you during checkout is it? |
