I'm deciding either between the:-
GS66 Stealth
Zephyrus S GX502

Is there a big differences in the GPU between the RTX 2060 (MSI) & RTX 2070 (ASUS)

I'm also open to other suggestions on laptops

Able to wait for 1-2 months? Preferred max weight and min battery life?

2060 and 2070 do have noticeable performance difference (Max-P cards)

Basically, i'm looking for an array of things from a laptop. But I know it's not possible.

I'm looking for a long battery life with good gaming graphics.

I'm not sure if you know what's the battery times for the GS66 Stealth since it's a 99.9 Watt Hour battery.

I wonder how big of a difference it is with the Asus model

GS66 can around 7-8 hrs despite larger 99Wh battery. Since Zen 2 is more efficient compared to Comet Lake, 8-10 hrs is possible in G14 despite smaller 76Wh battery
*
G14 is the Asus with AMD Chip?

Unfortunately the G14 is only a RTX2060 Max-Q, if it was a full RTX2060 then it would be a sweet spot

How about the Asus Zephyrus S 2019 model, what's the battery life like. I heard is around 5 hours at best?

Oh you mean GX502. Around 5 hrs with Optimus on.

Open to other options?

Sure, always open to other options.

Few Requirements though
- Minimum of RTX 2060
- Must be able to charge laptop via Type-C
- Decent Battery Life
- International Warranty

im looking into these two models also. but gs66 from youtube video mention about slightly low poor quality build. about asus zep s model 2020, i have no idea when it will be released.

now looking at lenovo legion 7i - but it comes with numpad, i hate it
alienware - but the spec is low on dell website. and dell website really sucks at customising.

this mco making my hand very itchy to buy. otherwise i can wait for other models to come out. im also same as u looking for it to have good gpu and good battery life
*
We both looks like we're in the same boat.

Let me guess you got the poor build quality of the GS66 from Dave2D?

Yes, i do hate the numpad on a laptop as it shifts the typing location

I'm drawn to the Asus GX502 only because of the Full RTX 2070 that comes with it

But for the GS66, if i'm not mistaken they start shipping once MCO ends.

I guess you'll be stuck with Asus Zephyrus, despite their below average QC and aftersales
*
Hence why I've narrowed it down to those 2.

So based on your opinion Asus or MSI?

If you want thin and light gaming laptop with:
-decent cooling
-long battery life
-2060 or above
-no numpad,
I guess the best option will be MSI GS66. Of course there are other decent options as well like Level51 Vapor 15 Pro

If you're hoping a noticeable improvement in overall performance from 9th gen to 10th gen, unfortunately there isn't any
*
I did look at Level51 offerings, pretty tempting.

But i value the USB-C charging more because when i bring it out i don't have to carry the chonky power brick. That can be left at home.

Yeah probably will go for the MSI, i was really interested in the MSI GS66 RTX2070 Super Max-Q but then saw the price and officially went off my list.

The difference between the RTX2060 and RTX2070 Super is like 2 or 3k. That's crazy.

Acer Predator Triton 500 also was a consideration but no Type C charging.

Any preference on weight and battery life?

2070SMQ is basically 2070MP. GS66 is premium product, sure will be expensive

Triton 500 don't have good CPU cooling, otherwise it's a decent model

It's just that it's such a huge jump from their base to their Mid-Range

You better off go with Vapor 15 Pro. It is good all rounder. With Vapor 15 Pro you get:
i)Good built quality (Even previous generation of GS series have many hinges issue and overall built quality is not study and I won't be surprise if the same would apply for GS66)
ii)Brighter display than GS66
iii)Big battery life: 94 Watt, will last you for 7-8 hours (You don't need USB-C charging capabilities if the laptop have bigger battery unless you planning to use it for more than 7 hours continuously without charging it)
iv)You get better price for overall package compared to overpriced GS66
v)Better Quality Control and After Sales Service
vi)RMA waiting time is less because they can easily gets the parts. With MSI they need to order the parts from Taiwan if it isn't in stock.

Don't buy ASUS gaming laptop even GX502. ASUS don't have good QA and after sales service. GX502 have MAX-P version of 2070. This means the laptop will have hard time to cool down the GPU + those crazy hot 10th Gen i7 even after doing some tweaking. Thin & lightweight gaming laptop not suitable to have MAX-P version of 2070 even 2080 in them (except for 2060 MAX-P & 2070-MAX-Q because of lower watts).

Heard that the refreshed GX502 will get the LM paste (Liquid Metal). This could cool down the laptop a bit but you need reapply it again in the future for consistent cool down if you know how to do it or you need to sent it to the center? (Need some clarification about this) which probably they will sent it to Taiwan to apply it again using a machine from the looks of it.

Another thing for any 10th Gen Intel CPU laptop, you can't undervolt them anymore because of the plundervolt issue (not sure if it is a permanent or they will do BIOS update in the future to enable the undervolting capabilty, which I think they will). If you want to undervolt your laptop, consider this thing before buying.

I'm not trying to hate on MSI or ASUS nor do I want to start a hate war on them. Just giving my opinion after doing quite amount of research. Cheers.

Appreciate your input on this, I do agree the Vapor 15 Pro is a hell of a deal for what it is.

Is that the Type-C charging is the decision here. I'm still deliberating on that point.

I though would love to have the capability to charge my laptop with the Type-C.

Also, Vapor is sorta local warranty as far as I know, which could be a problem as I'm looking to be out of the country.

just checked vapor pro review. so many bad comment from user. anyway, i just wait la. no rushing. only itchy hands

You know what's funny, at first i thought the price of the Vapor 15 and MSI GS66 was going to be a huge difference.

But after Customizing the Specs to somewhat close to each other the difference was only RM11

Basically the Vapor 15 was adjusted to 1TB SSD and Windows 10 Home.

But probably will wait for the GS66, once the MCO is over. Though I saw some retailers doing pre-orders.

What model are you looking at?
