Hi ZM Fong, currently I am looking for gaming laptop, and now considering on Acer Helios 300 (2019).

As I check the spec and price on (MSRP & retailer), both models (54KG & 76CQ) is RM800 apart, the only difference is the CPU (i5 9300H vs i7 9750H).
If I want buy it for normal usage and gaming* only, is i5 version is good enough or is it worth to spend another RM800 for i7 version?
Also is RTX2060 a good GPU, in terms of thermal and performance? I am hoping for 1660Ti version, but Acer not offer it for Malaysia market.

Gaming: More on strategy/management game like DOW3, EU4, HOI4, Total war TK, FM series, possible some FPS/ARPG/Stealth game.

Other than Acer, Lenovo Legion series & custom gaming model also under consideration, just:
Lenovo Y540: Very little review on it. Just know that Jarrod'sTech has just buy it, now waiting him to get his laptop to review.
Lenovo Y545: From BOAT review, repaste and undervolt don't seems to help much on thermal.
Lenovo Y740: The price is high.
Custom gaming: after sales service difficulties, coz I live on the Northern region.

Would suggest getting the i7 to avoid any potential botttleneck. 1660TI can be faster than 2060 depending on the GPU power limit

Y540 is decent while Y545 isn't available in Malaysia. Stock paste is good in Legion models unless you got a lemon (like mine). Can opt for onsite warranty for custom laptops

I see, just Acer did not bring in the 1660TI (not sure about future), may have to reconsider again if needed... hmm.gif

Anyway, thanks for the clarification. biggrin.gif

use the code when checkout, remember to tick all RM1 upgrades

Bad news, Lenovo just revise the accessory price for Y7000 SE, No more RM1 item.....
But, it is still the best deal to choose if compare with Y540.

Hi, may I know if the Lenovo ADP (Accidental Damage Protection) is a good addition, or it is not necessary to get? Coz 2 Years ADP will cost RM399, if select the 2Y Premium Care.

Which model? As long as you take good care of the laptop ADP isn't needed tbh

Which model?

Y7000 SE, which currently the best deal among the gaming laptop. biggrin.gif

Plan to buy it before Lenovo start to mark up the price.

get 9750H+1660Ti, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD+1TB SSD, 144Hz, Intel 9560 for best value
*
Not sure if I need 1TB SSD though (since got 1TB HDD), but I do agree that getting a laptop with the spec above for only RM4.7k (eCoupon applied) is definite best value thumbup.gif

Yesterday night I try talk to another operator again, and she say can add the mouse and bag (at Rm1) for me after I place the order without bag & mouse (as she say will add in).

So far not update on my order yet (about add the bag/mouse), so not sure whether she will add it or not hmm.gif sweat.gif

You can request Thomas to be your operator. Just ask is Thomas there? I am looking for him. Can you pass Thomas to me? Like that. Since someone tried to talk to Thomas before and got the rm1 Freebies. Hope this help. If they don't want to pass Thomas to you, just try another time until Thomas appears. Lol. Or else just email Thomas personally: tkennedy1@lenovo.com

He gave me his email last time
*
Actually I have place the order, so nevermind already. smile.gif

Also, the operator (Ashwini) say she can help to add bag & mouse from RM1 after I place order, I no need add the mouse & bag (only need add warranty), then she will add it on her side). Not sure whether she is say true or not, coz I don't see any update on the freebies yet. Will try to email her and see got luck or not, if no luck then let it be loh... laugh.gif laugh.gif

Since I also apply 8% shopback on top of 20% discount on the purchase, so I not thinking to cancel the order just to get the RM1 freebies, feel like not really worth it. smile.gif

for those already ordered the Y7000, how long the estimate to get the laptop?
*
Lenovo website mention ship within 6-8 weeks.
But for my case, just 5 days after placing order, they already prepare to ship out my laptop. I was quite surprise that Lenovo production line suddenly become so efficient shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif

Btw, for the RM1 bag & mouse, I think the Lenovo rep did not add for me as promised, she also not reply my email... doh.gif shakehead.gif
But nvm already, as I able to find another good deal for Y gaming Armored Backpack (not RM1 of course, but still a good deal) laugh.gif

How about you bro? Has Lenovo already ship out you laptop?

6-8 weeks is just estimation I think, but Lenovo seldom that efficient lol

got scammed aldy lol?
*
Ya, I also surprise when receive shipment notification email from them, I actually repeatedly check back the order status to re-confirm back. Just hope that them don't simply throw lemon unit to me laugh.gif

Regarding the freebie, maybe kena scammed kot...haha

But frankly speaking, I won't mind if the Lenovo rep lady cannot give the RM1 freebie (not even free lol), she can just tell me honestly, just like the other Lenovo rep George, as he honestly tell me that he can't help on the RM1 freebies.

Rep lady got say that Lenovo got keep recording of our conversations with rep (login member is for sure, guest not too sure) for reference, so she oredy know that I will buy Lenovo laptop (once mention in chat with her during Sept & with another rep George). So actually no need for her to do "extra" just to get me to buy laptop, coz I will eventually buy from them. laugh.gif laugh.gif

So I really don't understand what the rep lady are thinking, maybe she just want me to put her Rep ID during checkout (like compete with other Rep to hit sales quota?), just guess... sweat.gif sweat.gif

Sure, coz I am noob on the undervolting & testing laugh.gif

Just that recently I am quite busy with work, so the testing progress will slow abit. Hope you don't mind smile.gif
