hello, I am new when it comes to gaming laptops. I wish to play games like Sims 4, Dota 2, etc with good cooling while having programs like AutoCAD, MatLab. My budget is around RM3k, will be willing to upgrade if it is the better one

I did some research about the processor and is still unsure of these matters. I read that Ryzen is better than intel when it comes to gaming, is this true? would love to hear any feedback from the sifus. I research the laptops within my budget on the first page, like below

Illegear Raven Se

Lenovo 5

Lenovo Y530

Lenovo 5i

Lenovo Y540 (15)

I am unsure which laptop is best, as all the computer processors are a bit confusing. As a new user, which should I choose for? Thank you so much in advance

In general, no. However it also depends on many factors like which CPU you're comparing and the games you play. IMO the difference is small and at some point / in some cases, it doesn't really matter

Any preferences on weight and battery life
*
i see, it also depends on the graphic card too? I have no preferences on the weight (since gaming laptop is expected to be heavier), but battery life would be nice to be 5 hours

Kinda - difference will be less for lower end GPUs

Consider Legion 5 / 5i / 5Pi customize, apply code LENXCIMB

Performance per price 2060 would be the best

*
thank you!! can you please explain more about the customization part with the 2060?

the model you recommended: Legion 5 / 5i / 5Pi customize

customize = i can configure the components myself? I looked at the configurable component section in the Lenovo website, a bit confused haha sweat.gif

what is 2060 actually? i am sorry, i do not know much sad.gif

if you budget is 3k++ , i dont think you can get anywhere near RTX2060, most gaming laptop (that ive researched this 1-2weeks with price range of 3.5k give or take uses GTX1650) which in my concern is, wont be future proof enough since were halfway in the year 2020.

if can stretch to 4.5k like that (LENXCIMB), i think Legion 5i + RTX2060 would be nice (but running on intel 10th gen ya). my guestimation this could last give or take at least 3-5 years? depends on games development. RTX 2060 can sapot up to 4k games (bear in mind that laptop monitors are only 1080p) may need to connect to external 4k monitor with high refresh rate. if youve seen dave2d (youtube) he did mention that right now the GPU is so powerful that the hardwares are abit slow behind to catch up.

need to find the balance..

Thank you! Haha i don't think i will add on my budget to rm 4.5k as i am still a student, lack of allowance somehow. Assuming I will not use external monitor, would a lower graphic card be on for the laptop screen to capture? Is there any recommendations you would provide within rm3k range? Some recommended Illegear laptops, while I see people here saying Lenovo is a great brand. Dilemma haha, would love to hear your take on this smile.gif
