nope.. i m working in radiology who reports CT scan xrays.. So i need good display with good gaming performance, no need for too high end 4k display, full hd IPS sRGB 100% will do.
*
Actually you can get 1660Ti models for this budget but no high sRGB, I guess you have to stick with 1650

Illegear Raven / Raven SE with display upgrade
Lenovo Legion Y7000 SE customize / Y540 15 customize: with 300 nits 60/144Hz

Hi there I have a budget ranging from 3k - 4k.
Games played: Dota only
Programs: light auto cad, python and other programming,

I'm seeing illeager setup i5 with 1650, and level 51 setup i7 with 1650. I reckon my usage with i5 is more than sufficient.

Appreciate any comment or feedback or new recommendations.

No preferences on weight and battery life? Mind low sRGB display?

No preference on weight, expected of some heavier weight for a budget gaming laptop.
Battery life around few hours would be good, not high expectations for gaming laptop.
Not very sure on srgb, but reckon the higher the better. Can have better quality video watching and game gua.
*
Then pick any 1650 models under 4k, if you want high sRGB can consider Raven / Raven SE with high sRGB panel or Y7000 SE customize with 300 nits panel

Thanks. What do you think of level 51 120hz screen? Quite attracted to it. How's the screen compared to. Illegear?
*
It's the same panel used in some Asus gaming laptops (120Hz 45% NTSC 25ms Panda panel)

Thanks fong.
Im siding more towards illeager now. Seems like they're pretty reliable too. What's the major difference between raven se and raven? Which would u recommend?
*
no brand is 'reliable' fyi

Raven SE is thin and light and has optional battery upgrade, if portability and battery life aren't big concerns then go for Raven (non SE) - has optional 144Hz panel too (however Raven usually don't have promo like 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD)

yes. if you can.

Like I said, all new hardware don't support W7 anymore, unless you want something with 6th/7th gen Intel CPU

is there still intel 7th, which still got warranty, as in new condition?
*
New condition will be a bit hard to find, but personally I wouldn't suggest 7th gen due to noticeable performance downgrade

. ppl tell install windows 7 , in 9th gen, is doable, just need to slipstream usb 3.0 , otherwise need to find ps/2 keyboard and mouse , until that then use to install driver

done research on that, still not try it, since no laptop yet

my main concern is, after install windows 7 is
1st to run laptop in very long hours non stop, direct charge.
2nd maybe light gaming/watch movie/not gaming at all
any suggestions
*
New hardware don't support W7, it might work with other methods but I have no idea and no guarantee on that

Run for long hours isn't a problem if you don't do anything heavy

Illegear vs Level51
For the same specifications, which brand is better?
In terms of:
1) service after sales
2) Component lasting
3) quality of hardwares used
*
Depends on models

1. Both have good stories from what I saw
2./3. No guarantee on it due to consumer QC

Y540 / Y7000 SE with 1650 - old bottom cover
Y540 / Y7000 SE with 1660Ti/2060 - new honeycomb bottom cover

If not mistaken

Bad cooling, build quality feels cheap, Asus poor QC+QA

I still thinking either Lenovo or illegear for gaming laptop. But I think Lenovo got a better graphic card than illegear. Anyone can help me?

keah.kyle, no brainer that it’s gonna be Y7000.

1660TI is >50% faster than 1650. 1650 is fine for a RM3k+ device, but at almost RM5k, minimum it should be is 1660TI.

You also get to enjoy cheap RAM and SSD upgrade when configuring at Lenovo online. Marginal upgrade to RTX2060 is just about RM300 more. Though the performance gain hardly justify the price increase, it’s the cheapest 2060 laptop with intel i7 out there.

agreed fully.
