QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Jun 19 2021, 12:21 AM) Must be Intel? Wait time? Max weight in kg? Yeah intel 11 gen superfin seems nice. Around 2.5kg should be ok. Wait time 3 months, wait for more 11gen laptops surface first. Edit : Currently looking at Onyx v but not sure about the color accuracy of the QHD panel, as FHD Panda panels did poorly (Battery life seems so-so too). Hi guys, need some advice before I pull the trigger. Currently looking at Asus Zephyrus G15. It seems to have good reviews everywhere.
I'm looking for something that's relatively thin and light, performs well enough to play rdr2, cyberpunk etc. I will use it for work mostly though, probably 75/25 work to play ratio. I will use it mostly connected to my ultrawide 3440x1440. Not sure if it's good enough to play those games on this monitor, even at low settings. If not I'll just play games with the laptop only I guess. G15 ticks most of the boxes even though it's not the perfect one for me. Is there any other options I should be aware of?
I don't mind something a little bit more expensive. Wait time less than 3 months if possible.

@ZM fong, do you think that legion 5 gaming laptop is ok not only for gaming, but to go for work and bring the laptop in terms of portability and not looking like a gaming laptop

Appreciate your help. Everyone also want a 1.5kg laptop that can play cyberpunk at 100 fps max settings, but physics I guess.

QUOTE(etay0330 @ Jun 19 2021, 01:44 PM) Curious, is the strix better for using an external monitor? How so ah? bcoz it doesn't have MUX, so using external monitor will solve the prob also compared to GA503, it has 3070 115-130W vs 3070MQ 80-100W

Now I'm in a dilemma. I personally like the look of the Zephyrus much better, but the performance gain.... You helped me narrowed it down though, appreciate it. I'll probably end up just flipping a coin for it. By the way, it looks like these high performing laptops are all out of stock everywhere. What's the best way to buy them? Can't just keep checking shopee and call shops all the time.

Hi, I seriously can't decide which Acer Nitro 5 model should I get
Option 1: Acer Nitro 5 AMD Ryzen 7 (AN515-45-R5C7) - RTX3070 / 16GB / 512GB - Price: RM5,799
Option 2: Acer Nitro 5 Intel i5 10300H (AN515-55-537A) - RTX 3060 / 8GB . 512GB - Price: RM4,699
I am very new to the gaming scene (I would assume RTX 3070 is better than 3060 since it's higher?) and I just want a laptop that can last me a good 5 - 6 years while still able to play any new up-coming games in high-res. At the moment, I am only getting one because I wanna play CSGO and to use it as my day-to-day laptop since my current laptop is quite old. Probably in future I may want to play other game as well.
Is the extra RM 1000 worth it for me to get the first option?

Also, is 3060 would still be relevant say in 5-6 years time? And yes, I’m open to other options as long as it falls within that budget. Thanks for the fast reply Edit 1: noticed that there is shortage of gaming laptops now meaning if I were to get one now, I need to wait for at least 1-2 months? Is there any gaming laptop that is ready stock now? This post has been edited by goodlady007: Jun 20 2021, 12:27 PM
