I check in PSREF for actual spec the preorder promotion, only 5Pi come with 144hz, 100%srgb display.

The rest only 120hz, 45%srgb. I thought maybe typo error. But PSREF confirmed it.

just got my unit

it appears that the LENXCIMB is the highest discount code they have and its meant for CIMB staffs.

so be smart la when they ask you if you are a staff. smile.gif

also confirmed you can use any card to make the payment.
*
Ah i see. No wonder why the retail unit is so expensive. I thought the code is like a gimmicky code they use to attract potential customer. Haha. I calculate the code give 20% discount. tongue.gif

Just saw the illeagear live-streaming about latest AMD 4000 series laptop. Seem quite good. You get premium body/build with budget pricing.

Suitable for those who cannot wait for the Lenovo brand.

Edit:

It seem the model is preorder. Only mid July reach. Haha. I guess everything good need wait lor. sweat.gif

Wow! Congrats! I thought the Legion 5 (AMD) is shipped within 4 weeks while the 5i is 2 weeks.

I guess for those ordered Lenovo laptop, just expecting delay to avoid disappointment. Haha.

Mine is Legion 5i ordered on 28/5, said shipping within 2 weeks. But then the ETA to ship is 17/6, ETA arrival 24/4.

That is within 4 weeks ler. Haha. PKPB already ended by that time i guess. laugh.gif

If want Lenovo brand, i saw there is 1 model avail from NBP, Y545 (i5 + RTX2060), (i7 + RTX2060), pricing at RM4699 and RM5159 respectively.

Take note that proc is intel 9th gen.

Edit: 1 model only. The Y7000 is GTX1650.

But acording to sifu ZM, the thermal is not as good as it other siblings, Y530, Y540.

Is there anyone here who uses laptop and also external GPU? I saw the razer and the external GPU and i thought that combo rocks. You can use your laptop on normal days and when you need to play games, you can use external GPU and also that means you can easily upgrade the card in future without having the need to change the whole laptop, as usually you can't upgrade GPU card for a laptop. But i've also read one comment here that Razer's support and RMA is really not great at all. Any other manufacturers having such laptop + external GPU combo?

thanks!
*
I saw the Razer Core X. Seem neat. Need to have laptop that supported Thunderbolt 3.0.

I got 1 question want to ask sifus here, about the legion 7i. Which one is more future proof? Between 10750h+2070mq and 10875h+2060
*
If for gaming, stronger GPU always come first before processor.

An i5 8th gen + GTX1060 beat i7 10th gen + GTX1650 in gaming performance.

I noticed few days before, the free gifts - Gaming Mouse, Headset and Backpack, will be reset to original price, once u put in the above discount codes.

I have no choice, but to remove these free gifts.

Anybody can confirm?
*
Yes. Same like other online shopping platform. Mostly the T&C for the code is it the voucher does not applicable for promotion item. Either you choose the voucher code, or you want to enjoy the promotion item. Pick 1.

But there is some feedback of user that able to get both. Im sure that is just glitch in the system. Not everyone able to replicate the same glitch.

I am facing some issue while making payment in Lenovo Website. I used debit card for the payment, but transaction declined by the bank. Tried couple of times. Checked with bank and they enabled overseas transaction. But the issue still exists.

*
I used CIMB debit card. First time got decline because im not enable the online transaction features. After that i have enable the features.

Next i email to seapayments@lenovo to check on this, and what they do is charge billing again, and its successful.

After that waiting game. laugh.gif

Thanks for the reply. Can u give me more details in legion regarding its cooling, Performance and sound system. I saw the design and was well satisfied except for the nose cam but I am not sure whether other aspects perform well as well or not. Are there any disadvantages for this 5i? In terms of build quality, is it better than illegear onyx v,which is made out of aluminum? If my laptop malfunction at overseas, can I get a repair at the foreign SC?
*
The speaker is good, sound richer and full. Compared to flat sound signature from most laptop.
Performance is depend on the configuration.
Build quality is pretty solid, very neat simple and beautiful.
Thermal solution is amazing. You got mesh 1/3 part bottom of the laptop for air intake. 2x rear and 2x side exhaust.

The advantage for aluminum build is of course lighter. This Legion 5 is 2.3kg. For me i feel quite heavy due to already get used to ultrabook that weight 1.2kg for almost 7 years.

I see. Thanks for the info. do u think i should choose 5i 15 or 17? should i sacrifise performance for larger screen and battery?
Thanks in advance guys
*
Depend on your preference bro. To me 15.6" is very big already. Im used to 12-13" laptop.

Btw for larger screen, they used more power than smaller screen. Thus bigger battery for 17" model means nothing compare to 15". Basically it just performance vs display size you going to decide.

And as for screen, for me i don't see much different between 144hz vs 60hz. But the color gamut you can see the different. My suggestion is to go with 100%sRGB display. You will appreciate the color later.

I suppose an openworld RPGs should be more CPU bound, no?

Playing Division 2 Ultra Setting, CPU usage is about 6x-7x%. While other game barely reach 50% usage.
