I'm considering a thin and light gaming laptop and have narrowed down to:

ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS M GU502G-UES022T

and

ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS G GA502D-UAL035T
*
Not open to other options?

Budget? Preferred max weight and min battery life?

I guess less than 3kg or ard there? Currently using G751...
*
2070 GPU under RM7.5k:
Level51 Nova 15
Commandos Tiger 4 (no GSYNC, no TB3)
Illegear Selenite
MSI GE63 8SF-253 / GE63 8SF-096

Would not get thin and light if you don't need that

You mean the Laguna SE is considered as thin and light?
I didn't choose the Selenite as I want to avoid the 17 inch screen... my G751 screen broke 3 times in 3 years so would like to go back to 15 inch as it's easier to source for replacement...
*
Yes it's a thin and light

Consider Nova 15 aka PB51RF-G then (I've done a review on it), or other options listed
QUOTE(Holocene @ Nov 9 2019, 06:20 AM)
Nothing more than 6.3k I suppose

Max weight I would say about 2.5kg and battery life minimum 5 - 6 hours non gaming.

I am open to other options assuming but I do love the aesthetic of Asus laptops biggrin.gif
*
Thin and light is not necessary then. However 5-6 hrs battery life is a bit long in gaming laptops, fine with 4-5 hrs or you want longer?

Asus laptops have poor QC+QA in general. Even if some of their models are decent, avoid if possible

Yes 4 - 5 is fine but basically needs to be portable. And 1660ti
*
Thin and light with decent cooling and GPU boost feature (higher GPU TDP):
Level51 Vapor 15 Pro (94Wh)
Illegear Onyx 63Wh
Illegear Prodigy 63Wh
Illegear Raven SE-R 63Wh

I notice if I try to purchase Lenovo Y7000 or Y540 customized from it's official website, it is stated that need around 6 to 8 weeks shipping time.

Really need to wait that long ah?
*

Hi ZMFONG, appreciate you doing the good work.
I'd like to ask about your opinion on the Dell  g5 rtx 2060 thou, it's going on sale on Lazada for 4.6k and I'm tempted. Thx
*
Runs hot

RM4.6k can get Legion Y7000SE aldy (LENXCIMB code). Or Commandos Glock 5 Alpha (promo)

which is more recommended?

Both models are decent, cost around RM3.6k. Forge 15 has 120Hz panel though

IMO i5 is enough for your usage (Forge 15 cannot be configured with i5+1650). Also consider Legion Y7000SE with code LENXCIMB (expiring soon). 2 yr premier onsite and W10 key included

1660Ti is more worth it, if possible get that

Thanks for the thread.. Its awesome.. Can help recommend me budget 3k to 3.5k i7 and good cooling last run gaming laptop? Currently looking msi gl63 8rcs rm2899 and Asus gl 552v and Asus tuf fx505 and alienware m17 or any other? Thanks bro
*
Refer to the thread: Y7000 SE customize with code LENXCIMB and Shopback. Or the premade models: Y7000 SE 81T0001HMJ, Y540 15 81SY00AJMJ

Alternative: Illegear Raven SE / Raven

You don't need i7-9750H to pair with 1650, i5-9300H is good enough

MSI GL63, Asus GL552 and FX505 aren't that good. m17 is completely out of your budget, and it has mediocre cooling

Any distinctive pro and con between these 2 choice though?

I would say both are equally decent, Raven SE/SE-R is slightly more portable but has slightly less cooling room. You need to try out yourselves

I'm looking at Y740-15 with the 500nits HDR panel, 16GB/512GB/RTX2060, with LENXCIMB and 6% shopback, comes to 6300.
Another option will be Y7000 with 32GB/1TB/RTX2060/144hz panel, after LENXCIMB and shopback like 4900.

Still thinking if the extra ~1400 worth the TB3 and 500nits screen or not...

Any insight?
*
If you don't need TB3, 500 nits GSYNC and RGB then go for Y7000SE. Note that Y740 15 is slightly thinner, has more premium build material but keyboard layout is a bit weird and key travel is worse
