I ordered 3 items from Babyshop Malaysia on 10.9.2024 and received them today.
1 x accessory worth RM5
2 x 5-pack baby clothes worth RM60 each
So, a total of 10 clothes.
The items normal price cost around RM125, but I paid RM35 after stacking store promotions, store voucher, Lazada voucher and coins.
To my shock and horror, the parcel feels super small and light. Sensing something amiss, I decide to record a complete video before unwrapping. I took a full 360-degree video showing that the parcel is sealed and there is zero evidence of tempering.
When I opened, I only received the RM5 accessory. However, the printout details shows 3 items and 1.2kg, which is clearly false as I only received one item and it weighs barely 100g.
I contacted Babyshop store via Lazada, provided them with all proof. I got the following replies:
1. We understand how disappointing this must be and regret any frustration this may have caused. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a replacement for the correct item at this time. The only resolution we can offer is to file for a refund request and process a refund.
2. Please file for a refund request for the missing item in your order dear as we do not perform replacement on items.
Babyshop Malaysia is an official LazMall seller. They also have physical outlets in many A-list malls, including Sunway Pyramid and Mid Valley.
What do I do here? I believe there may be some level of hanky panky going on with whoever is running Babyshop Malaysia's Lazada store. I want to receive the order as originally purchased, as the baby clothes are of decent quality, therefore I rather not refund. But the shop is sending me stupid replies and no willing to rectify the issue from their end. At best, it is a genuine error on their part, at worst it is an attempt to defraud customers.
I have purchased hundreds of items online since MCO, this is genuinely the first time I ever got less than what I purchased. Some error in the design, some damaged items, sometimes even send me more than I ordered...but never less.
An update on this matter.
Lazada rejected the refund request.
I had to pull through hoops and call multiple Babyshop outlets. Finally, staff at Sunway Pyramid outlet agreed to forward my complaint to their “marketing person”. Babyshop HQ Malaysia doesn’t have any contact number and they didn’t want to share the number with me either when I called the outlets.
I finally received a call from their marketing person. He says:
1. Lazada had a system inventory issue. My items actually went out of stock but Lazada was not updated.
2. Therefore, they sent me the order with just the accessory without the 10x bodysuits.
3. He didn’t want to take responsibility for the refund reject and ask me to deal with Lazada directly.
WTF is this?!? This is a LazMall seller. I told him, if you don’t have stock call or inform me. Put in a note in the bag. Help me get the refund. Offer me alternative items. Nothing, nada. No remorse. How to deal with this shit?
