QUOTE(ShonGG @ Jun 19 2019, 10:23 AM) I am currently using a CAT4 router with digi i150 Kampung area so speed was not great, average 15-20 Mbps, no LTE+ I am wondering will upgrading to B618 bump up my speed? is it worth upgrading? does 22d support volte? Don't waste your money, and don't think of reselling the B618 in case of not worth cause it's NOT easy to resell.

QUOTE(abcn1n @ Jun 26 2019, 01:29 AM) If I were u, I would NOT waste my money for that kind of antenna. I had one b4 for Huawei e5186, it’s just the same as NO antenna.

QUOTE(abcn1n @ Jun 27 2019, 12:21 AM) ckimsem Thanks for the feedback. I believe in my case the antenna will help as found out that my Huawei modem when put 'outside', the speed usually increase by quite a fair bit. As since, am unable to put the modem there, the antenna will have to do. Sorry, what I meant was getting another kind of antenna, but not this one cause it’s an indoor antenna. If you’re using B618, its built-in reception could be much better without this antenna. Since it’s selling for RM40, you had better top up a bit and choose outdoor antenna. QUOTE(abcn1n @ Jun 27 2019, 03:26 PM) ckimsem Do you know which outdoor antenna for B618 then? Thanks Sorry, I don't know. I have bought one omnidirectional outdoor but still in delivery process.

QUOTE(abcn1n @ Jun 27 2019, 08:28 PM) I received the antenna and tested it. Huawei B618 built-in antenna is more better than the external, wasting money. While testing on Tenda 4G680, this outdoor antenna could improve the signal from 3bars to full bars, but speed may be more or less the same. Conclusion is don’t waste money buying any antenna if you’re using Huawei B618.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 8 2019, 04:34 PM) Wah, that means UniFi Mobile will have new unlimited plan soon. Anyway, the speed is not so great compared to Digi, I will skip for now. Good for those with good UniFi Mobile coverage. It has a 24 months contract, there might be a possibility of locked B618 soon.

QUOTE(saitong09 @ Jul 19 2019, 08:22 PM) Means others ppl cannot subscribe to this plan except streamyx user? If ONLY Streamyx users can subscribe, TM is making people more and more annoyed. Paying RM110 (Streamyx) + RM79 (unifi Air with unknown speed), wonder who gonna take these?

QUOTE(dark_axl21 @ Jul 21 2019, 10:00 AM) Probably not, since the new "Unifi AIR" still requires the subscriber to purchase a B618-65d outright at the same discounted price, just that the internet package is tied to a 24-month contract. Exactly, was planning to do the same but they "suspended" the plan until further notice, probably due to the roll out of "Unifi AIR". A little bit too late. https://www.soyacincau.com/2019/07/08/unifi...nlimited-quota/The Unifi Air plan that’s being proposed will cost users RM79/month and will be offered with unlimited quota on a 24-month contract. There will also be no upfront payments, and users will not have to pay for the LTE device either. Users are NOT buying the Huawei B618 since there's NO upfront payment needed. I believe early termination would impose some penalty.

QUOTE(al_madd @ Dec 1 2019, 10:56 AM) why bother 4G+ if speed so ayam.. But somehow i see the trend that unifi will capped speed after certain usage yesterday my max speed only 4mbps today it back ti 7.8mbps.. That's NOT capped speed, it's more like network CONGESTION. It's getting more people using unifi mobile or MAYBE the unifi AIR is using the same tower.

QUOTE(Rudd @ Apr 13 2020, 10:31 PM) E5186 not suitable for me, as it dont have band 5. B618 nowadays must sign 2y contract i think if buying from tm. Digi coverage at my place are bad, cannot subs i150. Tenda 4G 680 or D-Link DWA-953. They both support LTE band 5. This post has been edited by ckimsem: Apr 14 2020, 04:10 PM

QUOTE(jkfoong @ Apr 27 2020, 10:30 PM) B618-65d Unifi from your first post not available already right? It's still available, but it's a locked SIM unit now, so not worth to get it from TM. Alternatively, you could search for seller on Shopee or Lazada at around RM800.

QUOTE(GearRevolution @ May 11 2020, 02:45 PM) Total up i got 3 B618 already, all lock, zzzzz need to return after 2 years contract somemore It's a waste of money. Why did you so insist on getting B618? … You should try others models.
It's Huawei B525s-65a, connection on Maxis is quite good/stable with speed of 30-70mbps DL and 8-30mbps UL at my location. Furthermore, it supports a variety of LTE bands, unlocked unit, and even cheaper for RM450~500. This post has been edited by ckimsem: May 11 2020, 04:40 PM

QUOTE(nightzstar @ May 25 2020, 02:59 PM) So current unifi b618 is telco locked eh? Yes, telcos gives SIM locked unit now. You may consider buying at Lazada/Shopee. Alternatively, you may try Huawei B715-xxx or B818-xxx. This post has been edited by ckimsem: May 25 2020, 06:12 PM

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 26 2020, 03:09 PM) It may have streaming cap. I'm thinking to switch too, wait for more updates from users. My usage is lower than 150GB. As you have said, you travel a lot, and RLH is somewhat important to you. Since Maxis is just a broadband services, what's the main point that make you consider it? I am quite curious, or am I mistaken for something?

QUOTE(thankyou @ May 26 2020, 04:51 PM) Maxis upcoming VoLTE is with Ericsson network. No news how well it's compatible with Huawei devices in terms of profile settings etc... Their main target will be Apple/Samsung devices. ZTE/Huawei VoLTE works well with Huawei 4G router... Since Maxisone Go Wifi is a broadband service. What's the point whether or not it supports VoLTE?

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ May 27 2020, 02:03 PM) Don’t mind me asking, what’s the different between B525 23a & 65a? Let say for Maxis users. For what I know is the B525s-65a supports more LTE bands which can be used for Unifi Mobile and Unifi Air. For the big 4 telcos, both models would have no issues since they both support LTE band 3 and 7. You may google yourself for further details.
