I thought they now promote unlimited data?

According to Maxis CS, it's going to be truly unlimited.

Speed is capped right? I think I saw 30Mbps or something?
*
I was told by Maxis CS that the speed is only up to 20mbps, but that's confirmed not true. In fact, It depends on location and device used. Maybe, the provided ZTE modem is only 4G capable, so they say "up to 20mbps".
Yesterday at 8pm, my nephew downloaded a steam game with size of 20GB, it was completed at around 30 minutes. So, it's definitely over 20mbps by calculation.
Now, the only question is whether it's truly unlimited or not, will be able to confirmed sooner or later.

Good to know that. Perhaps next time can run a Speedtest to have a speed indication.

silentser has already done some testing, you could check it https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4965728/+60#

So far only unifi air really true unlimited?
*
I believe it's truly unlimited but the point is their tiny coverage area for LTE band 38, & 40. If your area doesn't support those bands, you'll have to make do with slower speed.

Currently using D-Link 4G USB modem DWM-222 + DWR-118 Wifi Router.
so far with Digi sim can get very good speed 28-30mbps in my area.
but everyday night time 8pm-11pm, the network is very poor, any video streaming (youtube/fb/astrogo/netflix) is almost unwatchable.
do u guys think upgrade to B818 can solve this problem?

There’s no router could solve congestion issue. So, don’t waste your money.

This seems to be a congestion issue and not related to device's limitation. So, it won't likely help. Report to CS on the issue.
*
Digi will ignore congestion issues, and uses lame excuses like DiGi proposed to upgrade the network/capacity at your area, or building a new tower. All are empty promises only to trick customers to stay.
Till today, Digi CSs are doing the same thing https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...post&p=97758766

Use a pin to click on the reset button. Everything should revert back to default settings as well as the password.

Aren’t you saying you want to access the router webpage? Everything will revert back to default settings.
It’ll be the same just plug n play.

Hi everyone, noobie here got 1 or 2 questions. Currently im using unifi air and modem is b618s-65d. If i buy indoor antenna like this one at shopee (Indoor Antenna) , got any chance can slightly increase my signal coverage and also help increase a bit of download speed? I understand that my 4g bar is full but the signal is still on average. My current download speed at peak time is average around 25-30mbps and late night is around 40-50mbps. If not, any sifu here got any indoor antenna recommendation for me? I can't install outdoor antenna cuz the modem is place at my room which have the best speed all around the house. Thanks in advance  notworthy.gif

I believe the Huawei B618s-65d built-in antenna would be much better than that indoor antenna. Furthermore, antenna won't change RSRP a lot, plus 25mbps is considered very good.
If your wish for 100+mbps, then go for fiber.

300gb quotas as I'm currently using it. Certain websites/apps will be throttled.

Has anyone tried this method to make "portable" 4G CPE router?
The description said B310, and powered up using powerbank.

Hi All,

I just bought a Huawei B818 taiwan set from shopee, it doesnt seem to work for my u mobile sim, but it works for my maxis sim. Any reason why cannot work? Or any ways to unlock it sad.gif

IINM, it's because UM doesn't allow its mobile plans SIM to use in 4G CPE router or MiFi.
