Which forumer reported to Celcom? 

cant beleive my B618 getting about 60mbps DLing speed this morning,whereby i usually get only 20-30mbps max ....

stopped reading at SIM LOCKED

Seems like TM is shutting the plan for us to get the B618.
I've been to two appointed TMpoints in Penang and they said that the unit and package is not being offered anymore due to "sudden suspension".

Seems like they also know that we're getting the discounted unit but using other telco's internet subscriptions.

Can anyone clarify or confirm this? Thanks

Noob question. On the bottom right of my laptop screen, I can see my internet as Huawei-B618-Axxx.

1) If I were to change the name to something else eg: "newbie", will this affect the modem's ability to still auto decide which band and frequency to choose from. Reason I ask is because on 192.168.8.1 (under wlan basic setting), when I changed the name, only the 1st SSID box shows the new name. The rest still shows as Huawei-B618-Axxx.

2) Also, is Huawei-B618-Axxx (the last 3 numbers the same for all Huawei-B618-65d modem)?

3) Currently my Huawei modem's password is the same as what's printed on the bottom of my Huawei modem. Is it advisable to change or just leave it as it is

I went to Digi got an actual postpaid i150 now got 5-25mbps with B315 Band7.
All my previous test is for prepaid RM8 1day unlimited and Maxis wireless get 15mbps TOP.

Do you think it's still no good to upgrade? Does 2CA + 4*4 MIMO in B618 might improve at least another 10mbps or more?

My location support 4GLTE-A and decent signal. since it's a jump from 4g(noob) to (4g+) + 2CA + 4*4MIMO?

yes, but was hoping they could open their mind and make the main quota as 500gb/1tb after quota cap speed like digi la.... not bad ald ald.... 150gb main quota abit low. 1tb walla a bit over... who might just stream from utube/netflix only... ugh....

5G, for better performance it might required to pair with 8x8mimo modem. as frequency are not long distance

In a good coverage area, are you able to use the modem+mobile network to play FPS games like Battlefield, Apex Legend, etc.? 

In 2 months time, I will be moving to a new housing area which Unifi (land line) still not available yet.  So thought of applying for Celcom Home Wifi at the time being while waiting for Unifi.  Main usage is for fps gaming (for 2 computers) and video streaming. Not so much on torrent or download.

1. Can I setup router to access SMS feature remotely? Remote Access Feature


2. Can I put the router in horizontal position and will it affect the signal strength?

I do wonder how many B618 users actually bring their units out? Making it like portable mobile Wi-Fi.

Since there are step up USB cables that are able to up the 5V to 12V sold on various platforms.

All we need to do is to just plug it into a powerbank with 5V output. 

Digi i150 + B618 at my new area have very good result. Test speed = 150mbps. hope it will maintain the speed.. i forget to screen capture, later will share.

There are some seller just sell illegal modem. (steal by tricks)
illegal mean the modem they got are free of charge. (by registering the plan with celcom got free modem with 2 years contract)
They use random someone IC to register the plan (Home Wifi)
Then they sell the modem.

The price range between RM180 - RM 400 for celcom locked version. you can find everywhere online include lazada, shopee,corousell, mudah etc.

When it come to time, the victim( Who name / IC used by scammer to register the celcom plan), will need to pay the bill, termination fee and the cost of modem.

anyone b618 alternative? becos my area also not can reach 600Mbps also when i test using netgear ac810s.. so looking for cheaper alternative that provide decent speed and wifi.

from the FAQ for unifi air, you need to return the modem if you terminate after 2 years contract tho..

Anyone using P99 plan with Huawei B618-65d?
It show connected but can't surfed net at all, but the sim card already activated and I can send out SMS
Any setting need to configure?
