A man needs to have a good wallet. can consider Braun Buffel, bang for the buck. It's quite a reputable brand. Then you can afford higher budget, aim for branded wallets. Branded wallets like Gucci starts at RM2k i think

Maybe you can consider something that is not a big name brand? For leather wallets I like Bellroy. Pioneer wallets are sturdy and machine washable. AERSF is releasing their card wallet as well in the coming few weeks.

You can shop and check them out locally at Oribags, their shop is in Setia Alam. Slightly more expensive than ordering from US. Shipping took around 2 weeks, no import duty & tax.

im using a custom made wallet made in indonesia for rm250 and serves me quite well. i really abused it alot thou i also do take care of it when i got the time by cleaning it and slap some leather conditioner on it. its a thick saddle leather and the stitching on it is still intact after all these times. not the best looking wallet since its fully handmade but damn this wallet stood the test of time.

best rm250 i've spend in a long time.

1,300 is card holder.

1,800~2,400 for wallets.

Gucci of course cheaper than LV.

Can consider Prada also if you want.

Bought mine in 2014... still looking damn good today with patina.

Things like Gucci, LV, is not good quality, just luxury brand.

You can order it without the logo, if you bothered to browse.

Mine is plain with no logo, initials or marking whatsoever. It's "kosong"

I've been using braun buffel's light tan wallet for about half a year and can see some peeling on the inner layer even well taken care of it

still think fossil wallet are best bang for buck especially those when can get around 100-150ish during promotion period from premium outlet

any recommendation where can get local leather shop custom made wallet that can engrave name on it with budget around 300-400ish?

Nope. I'm more likely to become their competitor than their customer. I make my own wallets now.

Not a fan of BB. The leather they use is dull and lifeless. Feels cheap. I've bought quite a bit of leather, from cheap bargain basement stuff to high end rejects from Hermes tanneries; BB definitely falls into the lower end of the spectrum.

Almost all the makers I listed handstitch their products. Almost none of them use machines. I could write an essay on why that is usually better, but it's getting late.

And unless your budget is super low, most of the leathers they have to offer will be better than what BB has in stores.

👍🏻 Think I will try one of them. Apart from leather quality actually I am also looking at the durability of its constructions.
Agree bb may not have the best leather but I find their construction usually quite durable. I have one in use for 5 years and it is still holding together well.

Stitching is one of the first things to go usually. Saddle stitching by hand is more durable than machine lock stitch.

braun buffel wallet is always good for me. smile.gif

I have the brown one for few months. Only managed to get 10% discount that time.

And I bought the black and navy one today. (2nd item has 55% discount) and the departmental store give $20 voucher for $120 spent.

Effectively 34% discount for each one of them.

It is hard to see Braun Buffel gives big discount for their products. Mostly at most 10% for public. Member will get 15% normal day and 25% during birthday time.

Even those on big discount are mostly those off-Seasons and not sellable items. If popular models they will be sold out even before big discount comes in.

They are 10 cards wallets which are always my favourite styles as I have a lot of cards to put in. And this style will remain thin in pocket. I dun like those with coin compartment which will make the wallet bulky thus will not last.

I like this series because they are having two tones colour inside the wallet too. And the Braun Buffel logo is very rare to be in black colour. the texture of them is also my favourite. they are in hard leather too which is my only choice.

This series is always one year now and they will not be having new stocks anymore.

I could not find the blue one at the Braun Buffel own boutique, but luckily I managed to find them at a departmental and best part was that they gave extra $20 voucher which was even a better deal.

yeah. becos of the 55% discount, the blue colour was sold out anywhere. luckily i managed to find one on the last day of promo.

the navy blue is actually quite nice.

i bought the brown one first which i find it nice. but subsequently i find the navy one is also not bad.

Sgd159 regular price. Bolehland price should be 3x of it.

Very difficult to find this becos it is an old model and no longer in production anymore.

I am also lucky to find the blue colour one. Black one is still easy to find.

I have all three colours now.
Brown one (using it currently)

This model is my favourite. Worth to own all three colours. Haha.

lucky la u dapat cari one. If i dapat black also good enough. I checked at melaka BB but no stock le. sad...
then bought a loui with flap. but now seems too thick. maybe will pass to my dad and get a Bellroy for the sleek design and can store more cards.
plus got 3 year warranty.
BB advantage is the polishing service. FOC.

i think the blue one is the nicest among the three colours. initially i like the brown more, but now i am more towards blue.
anyway, i have all colours, so no difference.

bifold with card slots only design will be the best, the wallet will be on its slimmest. and it is likely to last longer as it is not bulky.
i certainly will not choose other design, be it with coin pouch etc.

braun buffel no issue, as long as u choose a hard leather one, can last more than 5 years of usage no issues. happened to mine all the time.
only one time i bought a soft leather one, and it could not last.

yeah polishing service is good.

If got budget certainly can go for more branded one. Haha.

To me, they are worthy for its price due to its durability and quite ok design. Haha.

Base on RM500-1000 budget, I would suggest Bellroy products for commercial standard. For good quality handmade well known wallet I would suggest Onestarleathergood CXL leather. STR handmade leather wallet and Kisetsu Kaizen Crazy Horse leather wallet.

Currently I am using Bellroy Note Sleeve Designer Edition. (Designer Edition is going to be very limited and rare because Bellroy announce Designer Edition will not be restock).

I am selling Bellroy Slim Sleeve and Note Sleeve, Onestarleather CXL 6 Pocket Vertical Leather Wallet in Carousel if you interested.

Still waiting for Kisestsu Kaizen shipping.
Still waiting for STR handmade from Lithuania.

And I would like to bring rare wallet to Malaysia if there are collectors and fans here in Malaysia.

Maybe Kamino wallet from Japan, Stirk wallet from Canada and Lejiled wallet from France will coming in.

I am a walletopian, collector and fans of functional wallet.
Please follow up Walletopia Review by Mark if you can.
Rarest and functional wallet is reviewed.
