I've been using braun buffel's light tan wallet for about half a year and can see some peeling on the inner layer even well taken care of it

still think fossil wallet are best bang for buck especially those when can get around 100-150ish during promotion period from premium outlet

any recommendation where can get local leather shop custom made wallet that can engrave name on it with budget around 300-400ish?

Have u bought from any of them before? I wonder which ones have better quality? Insta photo look good but not sure how’s it like in real life.  Are these really better than say Braun buffle?

Nope. I'm more likely to become their competitor than their customer. I make my own wallets now.

Not a fan of BB. The leather they use is dull and lifeless. Feels cheap. I've bought quite a bit of leather, from cheap bargain basement stuff to high end rejects from Hermes tanneries; BB definitely falls into the lower end of the spectrum.

Almost all the makers I listed handstitch their products. Almost none of them use machines. I could write an essay on why that is usually better, but it's getting late.

And unless your budget is super low, most of the leathers they have to offer will be better than what BB has in stores.

👍🏻 Think I will try one of them. Apart from leather quality actually I am also looking at the durability of its constructions.
Agree bb may not have the best leather but I find their construction usually quite durable. I have one in use for 5 years and it is still holding together well.

Stitching is one of the first things to go usually. Saddle stitching by hand is more durable than machine lock stitch.
