Just share this app. Previously I used the phone version which requires airmouse.

Use this Android TV version on your tvbox and add ICD drama link inside, then you are good to go.

ADD channel. From the space provided type in:

This will save you from using air mouse which is a battery drain.

IR remote is adequate.

Hmm...i think i have installed this one, the same that you gave me earlier. But i don't remember got links inside? I will check again later.

rss itself is a blank app, u normally need to key in the link.

but this apk has it built in, u just click yes when prompted to activate it.

I feel that we should use the one with ads, because that's how they get money to sustain this. Anyway, not an imposition from me.

Generally, i quite agree with that... no ads, all of them will die fast.

Actually, that adfree version is only adfree on androidtv tv, not adfree if used on regular androids.

Some apps with ads tend to pose real or unreal security threats to the tv which cost a lot more than a box.

So, i suppose better use adfree version on tv; on box, anything goes.

I do not use any app with ads popping up on my tv to avoid any possible threat.

What would be examples of security threats can happen ? These only takes up a fraction of the bandwidth and air time. ( We are not about those dedicated programs which hide themselves in the background and constantly pumping out excessive advertisements. )

The most irritating part of youtube ads is the volume loudness. Suddenly the ad pop up and sound too loud. So irritating.

perhaps not the ads themselves but those addons that have somehow got into them.

i hv experienced such irritants that caused the tv to hang, to restart, popping out funny sounds, etc.

there hv been reports such malware can even brick the tv.

no big deal if in a box but not in the tv.

I set RSS screen saver on Kodi, once the shield is idle. Lowyat & Sarawakreports feeds with photo will be scrolling on the TV.

Tested again. Apparently, the last time i tried, it didnt show the contents. I realizes when i cliick OK on the "AllRSS..", it shows the menu to edit the link instead. If i click on it quickly, like a tap then only the contents appeared.

It is working now. But the interface still a bit weird. Sometimes clicking OK will go to edit. Anyway, it is working now.

The 'Channel' interface is too easily accessible and that causes the confusion. You have to keep yourself in 'Home' and right, up/down, then ok.

If you are at 'Channel', then right,up/down, then ok will bring you to edit.

anyway, about this rss link and origin... i think the original name was ic drama.

it was first used with webpage, primarily catering to those wanting asian dramas with eng dub or eng sub.

it was tapped by others and put in kodi too (which often goes dead now).

later, forks emerged... one calls itself "allrss.se" while another is "myrss.nu".

the one u use is http://allrss.se/dramas

u can key in to try another http://myrss.nu/drama

content a little diff, diff versions for eng subs. eng audio, etc.

This app after so long, the developer still haven't changed the icon. It is still showing the boring default robot icon. LOL.

There's a bug in this player which I don't know how to explain. It's happening on ATV boxes with 7.1.2 but not on 9.0 Pie...

Nothing can be said about it until it can be described.

afaik, there are no eng movie/tv videos with rss.

fine for ATV 8.0.

been fine for a long time.

it may not be a "ATV" android version issue but box/firmware specific.

RSS has also always worked well on my other ATV6.0

It is working. The problem eg if you had selected let's say hk drama and plays it then you decide to go back to previous menu, it doesn't scroll smoothly... Not sure if you understand what I meant...haha

I am using mxq Pro android version 7.1.2

Not only the rss player keep stopping, the YouTube keep ask me install new updates...

Then it states that updates from YouTube not compatible with the device

I need to clear the YouTube data everyday to watch it

that link is dead. so, i dunno what u installed.
but if it was good b4, it shud still b good... possible server down for a day or 2 - be patient.

two ways to do this app:
1. install rss player from playstore, key in this:

about yr box, i do not know it.
the youtube problem is likely coming from an incompatible wrong version installed, won't update.
try going to playstore to reinstall from there.
u may need to uninstall old one first.

do note apps get obsolete, u need to do maintenance.
android box is not paid decoder where somebody maintain for u; u just press buttons.

For your box, it better you install for non android TV version cuz your box is not pure android TV platform.

In the first place the app don't require log in credential... you sure ka?

i cant open the playstore

cant click that default user so unable to switch back to it

then i tried to sign in in google chrome also cant click in

now downloaded aptoid n manage to restore back the RSS n Youtube... but most of my apps gone

at least u revived it.

after this, u know the importance of regularly doing a backup of yr apps.

Do factory reset again perhaps cos usually the play store should be able to log in etc but if you are happy with current by all means, continue use

I'm using Android TV apk version, mi box controller can't switch to full screen button, use mouse to click no response.

what exactly do u mean by "full screen"?

u mean u cannot get a selected video playing or it plays at a reduce screen size?


for ATV version, mouse will not work, use remote only.

I used to advocate about using the ATV with advertisement. Now I change my mind. The ad actually interferes with the pure IR remote operation. When the ad pops up, it makes it hard to navigate without mouse.

So now I use the version which has ad removed. When the ad is removed, when program gets into the part where it is supposed to play advertisement, you can just press 'Ok' on the remote to skip forward.

I can't believe that if you install from playstore, there is no ad. Or unless you use lucky patcher to remove the ad.

yr box is not ATV but generic android.

use the right version.

if u use ATV version, u find some features of the app missing.

choice of box is about yr tv/audio as much as what u want to do with it - online videos, local playback, gaming, what specific apps, etc.

some boxes are great for A but not so good for B or C, etc.

there is no super box that does everything well; consider price too.

but since u already have a good tv and soundbar, u should not stinge on a cheapo box.

the unfortunate thing now is due to the pandemic, many box makers has stalled their new models... there hasn't been anything new for a few months.

i myself am looking for a new box but is getting nowhere for what i am looking for.

most people will tell u to buy shieldtv but before u do, u may want to ask your specific relevant questions to current users.

Try this on your existing box, it should work well. If buying atv, use the rss atv, apk somewhere here in this thread. I've no navigation issue using atv box remote though not sure about other android boxes

Am using on cheap ass mecool km9 pro classic atv box and works well though Netflix workaround if only limited to 1080 but Disney Espn + Unifi PlatTV Tivimate all works well for this primary box

I just bought erplay tvbox and added both RSS link to my RSS media player. But when I click on the drama to play it show ads and then white screen. How to solve it? I have no problem opening allrss 720 p Picasa Web tho. I just can't open hls in allrss and all drama video links in Myrss..can anyone help? Thanks
