Actually i am GE agent, after attend company new product launching for this baby plan, coincidentally I am pregnant now, so wonder to know will there many parents keen on it..
I also hope my baby will deliver safely, haha, but I was attracted by one point as can pre-booking the medical card and it starts the waiting period once baby is born. No need wait after one month of delivery only start it. Feel more secure. I am considering on it. Hmm |

Definitely buy one as early as possible during pregnancy. I think prudential can buy by week 14.
I took baby insurance when i was pregnant at week 17. At first i thought of ppstponing, to only take it when i am almost due but my agent friend advised me to take early in case pregnancy gets complicated at the end. My baby was born premature and required incubator, nicu stay, had jaundice and required phototheraphy. The claim we got back from insurance helped with the bills. You might say you dont want anything if something bad happened to baby. True. But actually baby insurance pay very minimal if baby (touch wood) did not survive. It s more on medical needs for baby. Also if baby is born with congenital problem, you wont be able to buy insurance for him already because it s prexisting illness now. I knew some mommas while at nicu, they regretted not buying insurance for their babies. |

I agree, we really can't expect what will happen next. Of course, we hope we will be safe delivery, and baby born in healthy. But it is in case. Now Great Eastern ady make the entry week earlier to 13 weeks. I am pregnant with 26 weeks. So because of the worry of unexpected events, will start the protection too. If you know you want children, get the insurance 1 year earlier...
If you only get the insurance while you are already pregnant, you can only get coverage for your baby after he / she is born. If you get an insurance before you are pregnant you can also get insurance for yourself if you have any kind of complications. If you become pregnant and you were not insured yet. i'd recommend you to go to the goverment clinic also as a backup. |

How late can you get the insurance?
Or is it more of a concern about how soon can you get it? |

I bought from AIA insurance
For mummy: AIA medical card, AIA Life lady 360 For baby: AIA Life Joy 2 + A plus health (medical card for baby) , A plus Baby care (maternity insurance) , A plus waiver extra and A-Plus Disability Care. Its good that we can buy medical card for baby while pregnant without any underwriting from baby but of course mummy shud have a normal pregnancy thus far to apply. If have any complications or Gestational diabetes they may reject. |

But suggested don't wait until that late only apply, as require O&G report that take some times. Advice not later than 32 weeks to make a decision will be the best Get ard 13th-17th week before the detailed scan. Once the scan told something not so favour then rejection ws quite high. |
