Hi,

I am using celcom fibre original tplink router Archer VR500V. The problem is that my new PTZ CCTV camera is not able to connect to the router. Celcom helpline say currently they do not support dynamic IP address for CCTV, only fix IP CCTV camera is accepted.

the camera CCTV is working fine when I use my phone as hotspot but it won't connect to the tplink router. I believe this has something to do with the router firmware or some other advance setting that need to be tweaked in order for the camera to work with this router. I have seen some other people share almost the same problem in youtube regarding this issue.

Right now I cant't do much with the router as celcom only provide standard username and password. bangwall.gif

username: customer
password: celcom123

This username only allow user to change wifi name, disable and enable 2.4 and 5Ghz channel and some other simple router setting.

I really need to access the admin setting. Does anyone know what is the username and password for admin. Celcom has change the default admin password by tplink.

Please help

*Additional Remarks*
The CCTV camera is working flawlessly and able to connect to internet when i link through my PC which have internet connection sharing enabled. This PC is wirelessly connected to the router for internet connection. So i strongly believed the problem lies with the celcom router setting and nothing to do with the camera itself.

Partly same problem to me too, but i figure it out that you can edit some of the setting that more then pc webpage can if you log in through mobile or make your pc browser to mobile mode (chrome on windows mac or linux will work, other will work but depend on browser), but if you really need full setting you will need the administrate account, about that i am still finding, what did i found out is the Archer VR500v looks like it is a customize version of the router from tp-link, this version only make for someone or witch ISP who need their own router, the huawei HG8245H is also the same, all setting was take out from the user.

any further information someone found out please reply, i will keep posting too if i found out something.

It's really hard to handle unless you know what is the celcom pppoe account password. You need to replace your router to Asus any model but at least RT-AC68U to register a free DDNS (Asus built-in Asuscomm DDNS). In order to setup your home CCTV. Celcom Home Fibre currently only available in Sabah. Since in Sabah here got not much talents, we are all got not much knowledge on hack this router and login this router as admin to check the Celcom pppoe username and password. If you can handle the pppoe username and password, sure you can better just go to buy an Asus router to replace this cheap brand router. Only Asus and some high end D-Link or TP-Link router got free built-in DDNS.

You can try to find any local technician for help. Let's say such as Home Guard Security. Just make a story to tell Celcom you got hire Home Guard Security to setup CCTV and you want to upgrade to Asus RT-AC86U by yourself because the Archer VR500V is too lousy, the technician need to know about what is the "PPPOE" username and password. If they ask you for reason, just tell them. Your home need to access CCTV from outside, you got contact Home Guard for help and need to upgrade your router. Just tell them whatever you can convince them. Also tell them, the current Archer VR500V does not provide free DDNS, only Asus router got Asus DDNS. You need to build a DDNS to access CCTV. If they still don't want to provide to you your PPPOE password. Just proceed to https://aduan.skmm.gov.my to write a report to explain everything inside the complaint column.

We do not need a fixed IP as long as we got DDNS is good enough to access into our home CCTV and alarm. My home is using Unifi too with a dynamic IP address. My public IP will keep refresh when everytime I reboot my router. I'm using RT-AC86U with a "xxx.asuscomm.com" DDNS registered in this router. DDNS will automatic bind with new IP address everytime when your router is reconnecting to the new IP. That's why you need this Asus router very very much.

Since Celcom do not want to provide you the admin access details for their TP-Link Archer VR500V, so why don't you just ask them for PPPOE user and password directly. Just give up the Archer VR500V then upgrade to Asus router is the best option for setting up a DDNS for your home CCTV. You do not void their T&C too because you are the owner of this account. You got right to know your PPPOE username and password. Also you are not modifying the Celcom stock router too, you just need to PPPOE password to setup in a new router.

I'm not sure about your Celcom fibre but mine is Unifi. I had request my Unifi PPPOE password from the TM technician too in last time. That's why I never use the TM stock lousy router.

Another solution is buy a server machine to keep running for 24/7. In Windows Server let's say lah, Windows Server 2016, you also can setup a free DDNS in the Dashboard. Just click on "Set up Anywhere Access". Type in your favorite name, let's say "zmun.remotewebaccess.com". So next time you can access CCTV from outside with this domain. The only problem is maybe you need to setup port forwarding in the router too.

some newer CCTV/IP Camera support Cloud, that be able to watch Live over internet without port forward whatsoever. even if customer is using internal IP.

it's Cloud only, not Save Video at Cloud.

one Example is mydlink, but their software isn't very good, but it work.

another Example of software that work over Cloud without port forward and Internal IP is TeamViewer.
