1st one a bit so so .. the comedian

2nd one the nightmare on 30,000 feet .. its ok but wish it was using the original one .. but got easter eggs near the end lol ..

can't wait for next episode !

Love the first one,jordan peele voice is really good in narrating.

Love the comedian.Good casting,love the story,how he realized things happen because of him and the spiral downfall he went.

2nd episode got tension and the urges. I do say that the story quite stretch a bit.

Looking forward for more episodes.

Twilight Zone (2019) Season 1 Episode 4 A Traveler

Before I start with this episode, let me put down some lines why Twilight Zone (1959) is revolutionary.

It was a platform, in which it's creator, Rod Sterling, used to illustrate ideas and points of views, without belittling it's viewer's (eg. questioning their I.Q.).

It also never forgot that is primary function, as a television program, is to entertain it's viewer.

And entertained it did!

The original series is still very much cherish (it has been release, in it's entirety on Blu-Ray) and it also spawn several reboots. In the 80s, early 2000s and this most current is 2019.

The original series ran for 5 seasons. Every season each episodes were around 30 minutes, with the exception of Season 4, in which each episode was round 50 minutes.

Back to this episode.

They adopted the season 4 format, in which each episode is around 50 minutes and the first issue I have with this new series is that each episode feels a little... dragged out.

What I will say about this new series is the production quality is slick and expensive looking.

Imagine yourself in a tiny town in Alaska.

The reason it exist is because of an American Listening Post, near the town.

The town acts as a supply town for the said listening post.

The town's deputy had to arrest her own brother (the town jail is empty), who got drunk at the town's bar, so that night, the sheriff had someone in their jail to pardon in the spirit of Christmas (it is Christmas Eve).

So when it came time to pardon the town drunk, they discovered another person in Jail, and the strange thing is, nobody remembers putting that stranger, in jail....

Like Rod Sterling, the new producer Jordan Peele narrates each episode in the beginning and end.

What is has in slick production... it lacks in originality...

Unlike the original series, the ending of episode, does not blow me away....

The Twilight Zone (1959–1964) Season 5 Episode 1 In Praise of Pip

I am doing this is reverse order. Instead of watching it from Season 1, I am start from Season 5.

A worn out wiseguy receives bad news about his son who is in an Asian "non" war. His son is wounded and the diagnosis is that he would die. He blames himself for being a bad father and visits the fair ground in which he visited his son, when his son was 10 years old. Miraculously, he sees his 10 year old son waiting for him, THERE!

I have a vague memory of watching this before.

Having able to watch a new episode of The Twilight Zone and then the original series, I am able to pin point the missing ingredients in the latest incarnation and they are imagination and a sense of wonderment...

Hey, William Shatner is in this one!! What would you do if you were flying in a place, and in mid flight, you notice "something" (a being of sorts) on one of the wings, trying to taer the said wing apart.

Bob Wilson (William Shatner) shows you what he will do.

What do you know, Richard Donner directed this!!

So there are at least three version of this, here, in the 1983 movie and in the latest incarnation of Twilight Zone

The only complain I have about this episode is, the "thing" in a guy in a bear suit...

If I could stop time with a stopwatch, I will probably do what McNulty did. Probably screw up let he did too...

The Twilight Zone (1959–1964) Season 5 Episode 5 The Last Night of a Jockey

Wow, this one has Mickey Rooney (The short older security from Night At The Museum).

The moral in this episode states that be careful with what you wish for, because, you just might get it...

One thing I would like to add here, the advantage of this series is, it was shot on 35mm film. So remastering and presenting them in 1080p, is absolutely GORGEOUS.

The Twilight Zone (1959–1964) Season 5 Episode 7 The Old Man in the Cave

One of the more dystopic episode in Season 5.

Keeps building up the suspense of who The All Knowing Old Man in the Cave is and the reveal... is actually disappointing...

James Coburn (The Great Escape [1963] and The Magnificent Seven [1960]) is in this.

One of the more "perverse" episode of Twilight Zone.

Is shows how a care giver and care receiver can bring the worst out of each other...
