Hi everyone, I just had a sort of revelation when I was talking with my wife a couple days ago.

Alarm.

I wake up much earlier than my wife to go to work. I have this phone alarm that blares in the morning. I hated it . Wife hated it. But i kept using it cause after awhile its reassuring to know the alarm will wake u up.

Now here comes the baby. I'm a first time parent and baby's coming real soon and I'm wondering what you guys did to your alarms in the morning ? No alarm? Soften the alarm sound ? Wife and baby will be in the same room as I am so...help me out here guys haha thanks in advance

Depends on individual, once alarm activate i immediately off it, put it quite near me n far off them, it wont wake them up, even till now my boy 26mo still the same.

Btw body clock will wake me up before my alarm activate most of the time

Do you believe, or are you bothered by news reports that, sleeping near your phone might cause cancer?

If you don’t or are not, then set phone alarm to vibration only. I wake up at a different timing than my wife too, and I put my phone in the gap between mattress and bed frame on my side of bed. Vibration will wake me up, but not strong enough to wake the entire house.

Smart watch or those band type is really a good option. Before this, I don't have the habit to wear watch to bed too. But alarm sound always give me unpleasant wake up as I need to quickly set it off, worry it may affect others. When using h/p even worst, as I avoid having it too near me, I gotta run to another corner of the room to get it.

Now using smartwatch, it actually gently waking me up by vibrating my arm and I don't need to worry bout it as nobody in the room (or even neighbour) affected by the sound, as only me knowing is time to wake up. It monitor sleeps too.

Another way is by setting aircond timer (if you using it daily). I set my aircond to switch off 30min before my time to wake up. As I am sensitive to temperature change, usually when I feel the room slightly warmer, I will wake up. And my hubby & son, very deep sleeper.. they won't feel it that soon, and I manage to on the fan for them.

Have you decided which method you’ll be using? If it’s none of what’s suggested here, do share so we might learn something new
