I am 24, and i have had 2 sinus operation so far.
First one when i was about 10 in Kota Kinabalu,
then the last one was 2 years ago.

Dr kandiah said my first surgery was very badly done.
So he helped me refix the structure so i'm really happy about that.

and he even gave me the tissue he had cut out in a jar. wicked thumbup.gif

Just wanna share with TS,
I done my sinus check up and surgery 3 years ago. (precisely, its not a surgery, just some sinus clean up).
I did my check up (x-ray + disgnose) at ENT Tung Shin Hospital KL. Cost about RM350-400+. Then 'surgery' at Sunway Medic Hospital, cost me RM6000+ . It was done by the same ENT doc. Yes i was the same doc. My doc at Thung Shin hospital 'recommend' me to do sinus cleaning at Sunway Hospital becoz he said its easier to get ward at Sunway becoz Thung Shin hospital is full alrdy, and Sunway hospital also offer better 'hospitality'. So i take his advice.

Personally i dont recomment u to go for ENT at bangsar or Sunway hospital, becoz their medic fee is very 'high-end'. Can u imagine? sinus cleaning + 2day 1 nite stay at hospital cost RM6000+ doh.gif.

I think maybe u can go for a check up at ENT Thung Shin Hospital KL, becoz their charge is still okay. (AFAIK they are semi charity hospital). Or u can go for a check up at Dr Chen's clinique at jalan Pudu. (i've forgot the actual name, but u can find it when u pass by Jalan Pudu becoz its just located beside jalan Pudu when u on the way to KL). Dr Chen is quite okay, but actually i din't do my sinus surgery and check up with him. But Dr Chen did told me tht, actually i dont need to go through the surgery (sinus clean up), becoz medcine is sufficient to solve my sinus problem. So, if ur realative's sinus prob is not serious, then can ask him to do a check up at clinic 1st (but still need to do x-ray scans at hospital, becoz clinic dont have tht kind of eqip). But still depends on ur sitiuation, if really cant wait, then ENT should be the best place to go.
Hope can hlep smile.gif

Just found this thread.

Want to share ~my husband went for ENT surgery at Ampang Puteri Hospital under Dr. Singaram in April. His condition was alreadyy quite bad, because initially we didn't know what was the real problem.

Sinus problem~all in cost about RM6K-warded for about 4 days , and 3 follow-up, now he is ok. Good service, no complications so far.

Glad that everything went well.

He's quite popular among the specialist for ENT. Just no Datukship yet.

On the contrary I have had nose and sinus surgery performed by Dr. Yeo Sek Wee in June 2009 and I am glad to say he has performed an amazing job. My nose now breathes very well and I have no more sinus headaches! He is very patient and has good bedside manners. I truly recommend him adn his charges are reasonable

Anyone heard of nasal polyps? It's some kind of growth inside the nose which causes snoring and cause painful headaches. I think my friend has it and she has been recommended to go for surgery costing RM7-8K. Anyone know of a cheaper alternative?
