QUOTE(limeuu @ Apr 18 2019, 02:27 PM) There is no proper place to lie down, the closest flat surface is the semicircular seatings....the lights are on, there is persistent noise due to people coming in and out, and eating, despite the late hours... Have 7.30am flight out from t3, still thinking between the option of transit hotel in airside, landsite or just save the money settle in PPL...At that time, it's not crowded so no problem finding a cubicle to yourself.... Only did it because didn't not book a transit hotel in advance, and no room available.... A few years ago, did the same at the old dnata lounge in T1 using priority pass....there was an inner section where the lights could be switched off, took the sofa seats and lay on floor and lie down....had better sleep!.... |

QUOTE(touristking @ Apr 19 2019, 10:30 AM) don't know how Changi works. But if you are coming in via KLIA2 and connecting flight KLIA, you have to check in KLIA again. And check in counter doesn't open 2 or 3 hours before flight so not practical to use the airside. Changi T1,2,3 is connected by air train airside, diff airline have diff early check in policy, for sq it is 48 hours, this is where a world class airport and airline stand out |

QUOTE(limeuu @ Apr 19 2019, 06:26 PM) if you are flying sq transiting through changi, there is no problem checking through, even if the next day, have done it many times, and changi is 100% safe.....nobody will break into your bag.... Some patriots still proud of klia.klia on the other hand.....hence mh's advice.... aiyo....why must spoonfeed one....google it lah.... sq in all terminals (ie t2 and t3) as well as the new Jewel, has dedicated "early check in" lounges....yes special dedicated separate lounges for early check ins....other airlines have special counters open throughout the specified opening hours for early check in and bag drops... all class of travel allowed... people are so used to crappy service (klia) and crappy airlines (aa) that you all are programmed to expect the worst and don't know what"world class" means..... Klia is a classic example of Malaysian quality, world class expenditure but third world maintenance and management |

QUOTE(limeuu @ Apr 20 2019, 11:34 AM) MH does allow early bag drop within calender day, if you don't mind the bags in the cargo holding area for a long time....have done before....(also can drop bag night before, but in business class).... Departing changi next month as well, thinking what food to hunt in jewel ....In any case, check ins start usually 3 hrs before.....have arrived 4 hrs prior, queue up, drop bags when it opens and still enjoy 2+hrs of lounge....and sometimes, they just accept your bags even 4 hrs before..... Next month departing Changi with sq, going to drop bags early and enjoy the new jewel.....lol |

QUOTE(touristking @ Apr 20 2019, 03:57 PM) I think the airport I dislike the most may be Dubai. So big and sometimes you have to walk sooooooo far and through huge crowd to get to the connection gate. No fun at all. Nowaday I avoid Dubai, Emirate is an overrated airline, business class hard product is bad and service is deteriorating over years. The airport itself is big but nth too impressive as well |

QUOTE(charlesj @ Apr 21 2019, 03:49 PM) Only transit in Dubai / taking Emirates once during my honeymoon several years ago. partner do able to redeem their first class. Just not enrichNot much memory left about the airport. Nevertheless, Emirates coverage is quite good, they fly almost all major cities in Europe. Compare to SQ only cover a handful of cities in Europe. Nevertheless, Emirates first class is one of the best, and only redeemable with their Skywards Miles. Not many Msia CC can transfer points into Skywards Miles. |

QUOTE(charlesj @ Apr 24 2019, 11:02 AM) Only 5 FFP can redeem, inc Emirates itself. Coz Emirates is not part of any alliance, but they do partner and code share with other airlines, major partner do able to access their first class inventory to some extend. Not many, AM also not entitled. Just like SIA first class, I think available only for KF. Lufthansa first class, if not mistaken only open for partner airlines 2 weeks before fly. I think we should urge the banks (Maybank etc) to allow redemption for more FFP. AM not related to emirate I guess? Our cc market not competitive enough, they just sit there waiting user make minimum payment charge high interest can d |
