Hmm, weird overhaul.
Reshim on valve clearance?
Water pump? Dont gamble on this and it is bitch to replace without remove many things if the engine sit in front bay.

Recommend to replace all rubber hose and water metal pipe that located underneath the intake manifold, these things not worth to save money.
You might not find all the direct replacement hose, can get it from part dealer to find similar size and curve, cut it to fit. All the oil seal and oring advised to replace when the engine undergoing overhaul. Skim the flywheel if show uneven surface. For the driveshaft boot, dont use cheap brand, recommended to replace it with seiken brand which you can find in jalan ipoh. You are good to go. |

QUOTE(Balanced @ Mar 14 2019, 11:10 PM) Ya he will recheck the clearance. Water pump already included rm165. No need change belt as its using timing chain. Valve cover seal included. Recommended to send the head to machine shop for clearance adjustment instead of hand adjustment which some foreman use knife grinding stone to finish the job, no good. Unless he manage to find genuine nissan shim to do refit. Machine shop charge around rm20 per valve. |

QUOTE(kyan Mine is not overhaul but just engine leaking for my 13 years old Avanza 1.5cc Fuel pump gasket? WtfChange items 1. Flywheel oil SEAL 2. Timing chain GASKET 3. Fuel pump gasket 4. Head gasket 5. Oil Pan gasket 6. Ignition coil plug 7. Plug Labour RM700. Cheap? Car got petrol smell? Does recommend to replace the pump if mileage exceed 100k. Fuel rail does have some seal can be replace to prevent vaccum leak. Mistake - This post has been edited by HolyAk: Mar 14 2019, 11:28 PM |

If the previous owner still use the original dual mass flywheel, its gotta be expensive to fix when it goes bad
If im not mistaken, the clutch plate for this 6mt is quite rare. Maybe thats the reason you rebuild it |

Try ask him to usd high grade silicone gasket maker, timing chain area is prone to leak if the foreman use typical grey color stuff.
Original toyota gasket maker is quite good but expensive. |

QUOTE(Balanced @ Mar 14 2019, 11:54 PM) Haha i actually kacau him a lot already. But i will pass him your advice. Thanks a lot. Not valve seal but gasket maker glue, the one use on timing chain cover and oil pan. Btw for the valve seals, he said grey colour valve seal is good valve seals. Not the best la, but ok. He told me different color different quality. Do u know anything about this? Because i wanted japan valve seals but he only can find 'perfect' china brand valve seals.. rm6 a piece Valve seal can get from sim ghee autopart at jalan ipoh, genuine nissan. Bring sample to them for double check, i think it is same as typical sr20 In this case, you better send your fuel injector for ultrasonic cleaning as well, you can always do a flow test first before proceed. Cleaning part must watch him do or send to reliable person to handle it, 90% in the market charge full but not doing the work properly. |

QUOTE(Balanced @ Mar 15 2019, 12:07 AM) I am in penang and i do not know anyone who does ultrasonic cleaning for fuel injectors.. usually cost how much for the cleaning? Go look for those mechanic garage that do service and repair for superbike, usually they have the cleaner, just not sure they want to do business or notThis post has been edited by HolyAk: Mar 15 2019, 12:14 AM |

QUOTE(jesserider223 @ Mar 15 2019, 12:08 AM) wow, you are really meticulous when it comes to this, if you even clean injector ultrasonic-ly, you must have really high standard, this would be the real rebuild standard Lol, thats a pretty common practice. It is one of the main reason to caused strange idling issue, normally people overlooked the problem. the toyota gasket maker, is it hard to find? and suitable for all kinds of seal requiring glued gasket? and in the previous post mentioning the manual transmission, if the parts are hard to find, then by rebuilding it and retaining old parts would mean it performs like new again? Typical part shop got already, local toyota fipg is packed by uwm, if I'm not mistaken |

For 6mt sr20ve 20v setup in a sentra is fun but you need to solve for a few things if want to race with those late model street car on the road, hehe
1)Soft engine mounting problem ( find oem hard mounts) 2)Soft suspension problem (aside spring and shock, get hard bushing , b13 rear side got one big arm can not use hardbush, or can break it, u need to study it) 3) soft chassis problem ( need some useful bar to strengthen up abit) 4) Get better brake system At the end, worth or not to spend that much money, 8 years ago I'm still hot headed to mod here mod there, 8 years later, feeling kind of wasted to do such things. But it does vastly improve your knowledge on car if you like it and mod it with hobby mentality. Nothing wrong with that. DSLR enthusiast probably can buy bmw with their investment on those lens and gear. This post has been edited by HolyAk: Mar 15 2019, 12:29 AM |
