Still the same 799 tho

In India Samsung partner with Amazon to sell their M series online. Here Samsung seems to be partner with Shoppe upon release.

Maybe this online business model is not really profitable in Malaysia. We see xiaomi quit it online shop and sell on Lazada. Then people will just buy ap set from Indonesia due to cheaper price compared to official Malaysia set.
*
Ya, I believe you're right. Xiaomi also previously didn't believe in setting up retail shops but now they have quite a number all around the country laugh.gif

I’m in between an A30 or RN7 as my backup phone now. Don’t really need top of the specs camera, just need something reliable with good battery life. Was looking at the M20 but decided the A30 has better specs. The RN7 is probably more bang for buck though but from experience, Samsung has the better after sales support. Any A30 users here who previously owned a Mi phone have any input?

same thought, ytd went to check A30, that one look quite worth for a backup phone. One thing I think RN7 not nice becoz of the thickness of the phone. It damn thick if u compare with A30.
*
The only reason for me to pick the RN7 over the A30 would be the SD processor vs the Exynos biggrin.gif

hmm.
you're saying Exynos under-performed vs SD  blink.gif
I mean for A30 Exynos chip?
*
No, I’m not a gamer so performance not all that important for me. More concern on efficiency.

Ya, no abnormal battery drain would be nice - but it’s a Samsung so won’t get my hopes up too high biggrin.gif

Everything good except fp......sometime fast sometime slow but better than b4 after the lastest update. Face reconize super fast.
*
I had the S10+ for a bit and the FP scanner was a little hit and miss too. So yeah, I’d like a physical capacitive sensor for now smile.gif

Guys, I saw the A20 in technave... It has 720p resolution. Does the screen look that much difference from 1080p reso?
*
I’m using an iPhone XR now, and honestly, it’s difficult to see the difference between 720p and 1080p with my naked eye on such a small screen.

The thing is the price difference between A20 and A30 only RM100; for RM100 more you get Full HD, extra 1GB Ram and double storage....better top up to A30 especially if u shop around u can get A30 for RM50 less
*
Actually a friend of mine shared a deal on Shopee for RM709 - at that price I think the A30 would be a value buy!

RM67x would be a steal, hahaha...

New update coming for M20 users....

The update also improves the general stability and performance of the phone, according to the change log.

I’ve still not gotten my RM100 voucher from Shopee for the M20 though. They really making me wait 3 months laugh.gif

bro you have the M20? how's the battery life? it's 5000mAh but is it long lasting? one can never tell with Samsung.

Their Note 9 and S10 plus (4K) not that outstanding battery life.
*
I don’t have bro. Wanted to test it but haven’t bought yet. Shopee had this guess the price contest on FB for the M20 with the winners supposedly getting a RM100 voucher. I’m still waiting for mine but my interest in the M20 has faded substantially laugh.gif

I had both the Note 9 and S10+, their battery was OK. What annoyed me was the standby drain when the phone is idle but supposedly Samsung has issued a software fix for this.

Anyways, am now thinking of trying the A30 instead or the RN7.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you using the XS Max? That's a powerhouse. Why downgrade?
*
Now using an XR bro, passed the XS Max to my better half. What can I say, I like to try phones smile.gif

Looking for a backup phone so just looking at midrange ones for now.

Doing a research on the A30. It seems to be the best bang for the buck phone with the specs it boasts. However, upon doing my research, A30 units have issues with GPS. I've seen complaints on Lazada comments and Samsung site itself. Anyone experienced it?
*
Wow, really? Mind pointing me in the direction of these reviews bro? One of the main functions of my secondary phone is to be my Waze navigator, so if it does have some issues with GPS then it's a no go for me too...

Yeah bro! I was disappointed as I have made up my mind already but came across such comments which disappointed me as I'm a Samsung ever since.
I can't find the Lazada one but try to check the ad on the Lazmall, I'm sure you'll find feedback there. These are the comments I've seen over on the Samsung site.
Anyway, buy at your own risk smile.gif

Yes, I checked the user comments on GSMArena too after reading your post yesterday. There were some complaints on the GPS too but on the other hand some commented that theirs had no issues. Think I’ll try and hunt down a demo set to try this weekend smile.gif
