Not necessarily.  MCMC used to "encourage" Malaysian telcos to provide domestic roaming for telcos who lack coverage in certain areas.  But telcos like Maxis are very reluctant to give rival telcos a boost.

The TM Point shops and the Kedai TM are open and operating, but buying a unifi SIM card will be like going on a treasure hunt. TM doesn't seem to want the business.

If you try to register for one using the mobile@unifi app, which is what they want everyone to do, the app has dimmed out the "self pick-up" up option and the only option there for you to click on to is the "home delivery" option, for which you will have to pay RM10.60 for delivery.  This was understandable in the MCO days, but now we are so much into the CMCO days and the TM shops are already open, why the app is still outdated and archaic and dimming out the self pick-up option remains an annoying puzzle.

If you join the longggg queue outside the TM Point shops today. The one we went to opened at 10am instead of the 8am time that they told everyone they would be opening at because of the fasting month where they would open early and close early. So we sweated outside in the line because of the social distancing thing, and when it came to our turn an hour later, we were then told that we could only get the SIM cards at the main TM place downtown, by which time it was only like 30 more minutes left till the downtown main branch closed at 3.30pm.

So there you have it - would you say the kedai TM is open already and will you be able to buy the unifi SIM card you need?  I would recommend that you go straight to the main branch in your town and line up early and hope that when your turn comes they don't make you download the app and register on the app and then find you can't do self pick-up, something that might possibly happen. 

Sigh... enough ranting already, I always have to tell myself when trying to say anything about service levels at TM...   

TM is partially funded (subsidized) by taxpayer money anyway.

Now my data usage reached 30gb and true enough, almost immediately the speed dropped to ~5mbps consistent (refer picture) . Mind you, my location has full signal and less congestion. Also, a friend of mine tested using his unifi sim on the same location but with data usage less than 10gb gets 20mbps consistent. Therefore I can conclude that unifi mobile is SECRETLY THROTTLING THE INTERNET SPEED! Beware!

I have forwarded the issue to MCMC on this matter we'll see how it goes. I would have never subscribe to this plan if I know this kind of crappy limitation exist.

Yes. I will continue to spread awareness to people for as long as I'm bound under the 1 year contract. I would have never subscribe the plan if I know this limitation is in place.

I used MiFi with and without built-in battery before, EE40, E8372h-608 and 153.

Compact/Small/light-weight MiFi - the downside is small battery and can only last 2-4 hours. If battery spoil within 1-2 years then need to change.

After trial for years, now I'm still using E8372h (2nd unit already) when I'm on the go to share with all the devices. USB has the option to plug into car or a powerbank. Currently I plug into a 10,000mAh powerbank which can last me at least 2-3 days of continuous usage (which I don't, so I only roughly charge it once every 2 weeks since I only use a few hours a day)

The good thing is I also can place it near the window or above roof or hang it on a tree branch or whatever to get better 4G signal. Get a unit that can lock into 4G only in its setting. I can get 30Mbps d/l in good coverage area which is more than sufficient.

Also, I'm using Maxis multi-sim for extra RM15/mth (used to be RM10/mth), I get an extra sim card, which can share the data-plan from my phone SIM without the need to swap the sim between MiFi/phone. Otherwise have to subscribe to other package which may have limited hotspot/tethering quota.

In this way, I can share internet with multiple phones (some without data plan), tablets/iPads, Nintendo Switch, etc. when I'm outside.

MaxisOne Plan 98, downgrade from MOP128 since I'm not in contract anymore. It's not the cheapest, but no other crap such as add-on hotspot, or tethering quota, speed limit, or this or that. 40GB = all open shared between my phone SIM and multi-SIM in modem. I recall can get up to 2x multi-SIM (data only), each at RM15/mth.

I'm thinking about other plans as well, particularly this Unifi Air/Bebas just purely for MiFi deviec + hotspot
For such a small USB device, with such a small built-in 3G/4G antenna, I would say it works as intended for me when outside. I would not say it capture strong signal as compared to my B818+2x LDPA external antennas at home, which is not a fair comparison. I'll say decent/average signal and bandwidth which is good enough for individual use.

Yes, E8372 can lock band. I lock band 3 and 7.
EE40 cannot lock band.

Hi all, planning to subs to unifi mobile. For unifi mobile the payment is on same bill as my unifi internet? Or come in 2 different bills?

To scan purely MySJ QR to enter premises, confirmed no need data. I've a phone that has no SIM and only connects via WiFi at home. Confirm when bring out does not have any internet connection and still can scan QR.

Also to start the app from iPhone (confirmed kill all background app already) in order to scan the QR also no need data. Not sure about Android or other OS.

But ... to access other things will need data. e.g. Check vaccine schedule date/status.

Yes, history is there in the offline phone, even though no internet/data. I think is stored locally. Whether it will sync online later or not to upload, this I don't know. Cause I always check everytime this offline phone is used to scan MySJ QR. Don't play play summon 10k

Yes, it was 5 numbers per IC at the time of Unifi Mobile Bebas launching.
Now, Unifi Mobile Bebas has changed to 3 numbers per IC as I was told last year, not sure whether or not it has changed again though.

For people with 5 numbers ATM, they can keep the lines until termination.

HI, i got 1 number want to keep, is it under unifi prepaid as long as 1 remain active by sending 1 sms / make a few second call / online it will remain active for another 90 days, this rules still apply?
