Hi guys , I am never the type to go to internet and rant however this time I must to somehow find someone with good lubang or able to help me to recalibrate my battery

So in summary , I've pre ordered and received my phone on 6/3/2019 . On that day I've already noticed my phone drains battery quite fast like 1% in 5 minutes of usage. And using 4G.

I've done simple diagnosis with Samsung customer service via smart tutor and she can obviously see how 20 minutes of using smart tutor can already drain 5%. She then help me to reset setting and ask me to use safe mode and email her the feedback after few hours. And so I did and the feedback is equally terrible as heck. (I switch all unnecessary stuff off like nfc and edge lighting)

She then asked me to go to customer service centre which I did on the same day, they then do further diagnosis and agrees my battery drains faster than usual and accepted my phone

After 2 days they called me and told me my phone is ready for collection and there's nothing wrong with it after a simple factory reset. Upon collection I found out my battery drains very fast again but I didn't think much thinking it's because I am redownlosding all my apps and stuff

Well after days of using it ,I've had enough of this Samsung wasting my time nonsense . Can someone teach me how to recalibrate my battery.

I will start doing screenshot of my battery life cycle tomorrow morning. As for now I woke up at 7.30am and its just 10 .20 now my battery is already 80% ... 20% for just roughly 3 hours and most of the time it's just standby on 4G.

#6/3/2019

1. Collection of s10
2. Notice problem

#7/3/2019

1. Called Samsung and do diagnosis via smart tutor
2. Sent to Samsung service centre one utama and wasted my few hours for their shit service

#9/3/2019
1. Received no updates so I decided to call them to ask
2. Came and collect my phone just to find out nothing has been done and they really do enjoy wasting my time going one utama here and then just so my phone can sleep in their luxurious hotel.

Samsung Malaysia really need to keep their service centre in standards. Looking by their Google reviews I'm not the only unhappy customer

Can you post your battery usage?
*
Sure here you go , latest one. I've already let Facebook and Instagram sleep while not using and also starting to use 3g only. But it be honest this is rather weak if this is the case. Samsung can suck cheap Xiaomi d

It takes time to optimize the battery. Give it a week, and do this again. Sure vast difference. Each time there's a new android phone first one week all will scream the same thing. A week later all quiet once the batt is optimized. Your phone is fine, trust me

P/S : My friend bought same phone in US. She bought sat morning, now sunday night and battery still 21%.
*
Really ? Then should I use back 4g and change all my other settings ? But my battery literally cant last for more than 24 hours , I woke up at 730 with full battery and now is 55% and i mostly dont use phone during office hours.. only break time

Thank you very much , and for everyone who contributed or spend time discussing about this nonsense. Maybe I have high expectation on Samsung or I'm just a tough customer. Hopefully this shit will get better once Samsung has learnt my battery usage

Cheers everyone

Because cheap phone user 1st time buy expensive phone.

They expect battery to last forever and everything is lightning fast.
*
Chill Tan Sri , I just dont expect it to be so lousy. Losing 10% on standby isn't in my standard for any phone and I never complained anything about the speed. Even my first android phone back in 2014 HTC m7 can last better than this

Anyway the previous oppo I used was the one offer by maxis, a77 I believe and xiaomi I got no idea but it's definitely the entry level but it's so good tbh. I'm dont judge phone base on price tags and honestly I think it's on par with premium brands in terms of processing speed and battery life just not camera

Your 2014 HTC m7

First 2 days SOT how many hours?
*
No idea mate I think I was about 16 or 17 years old when I got that phone . But the point is not all flagship phone as you describe takes battery fast on standby. I got no problem if it takes battery fast when I'm using it on heavy apps or game.

And that being say when I was young my first android phone can out survive 2019 battery. Hell even my old iPhone 3g can survive longer on standby.

Fyi I'm not here to discuss on technical matters, just simply here to tell you that my old device flagship to some temporary phone has never given me issue regarding battery to the point I need to discuss it on internet.

But if certain apps that I really use and it is banned on Huawei phone, that is a drawback to the phone and I might not get that phone. Like I said they need to strike a balance... Huawei is too aggressive and that's actually bad.

Imagine you buy a phone and this app cannot use, that app cannot use.. Really sien. All in the name of conserving battery life. I buy my phone to freaking enjoy whatever I want... Lol
*
Yes! If this phone is draining battery normal for my case (based on ohman saying flagship is meant be like that) then I think Samsung really doesn't have the balance for endurance / sustainability.

lets put it this way

hardware tech had been progressing rapidly these past few years, especially screen, camera and software

but battery tech is pretty much stagnant, except increase in capacity

its not surprising some old or basic phones can last longer
*
Well idk for Samsung but I remember getting some advertisement for my old phone that said its processor takes less power to operate and its more efficiently.

Well as I said maybe I expect too much from a Samsung. I really do appreciate everyone's opinion and taking time to tell me what is normal etc however I just kinda have an expectation on phone and losing tons of battery at idle is really just shit for me

Yea man.... People want more POWER, FEATURES, FUNCTIONS, Better CAMERA, BIGGER SCREEN, More Apps, Blah blah blah.... but the battery can only give that much of juice. Samore, people want it Small, SLIM and can fit into 1 hand. bangwall.gif

Kesian the battery!!

Imagine putting this battery onto the old Nokia phone... Power gile!!
*
Ahh i see thanks for all your guidance, I believe the way to overcome this issue would be to surpass the technology barrier regarding the processor . If it can run super efficiently I guess the power needed to run all the apps and hardware can fall drastically. Anyway thanks for your guide

Bro. If you are serious.

Come to Samsung s10 thread.

We do step by step trouble shooting.

Edit: if the phone is this bad, how are they going to sell 45mil s10 this year?
*
People buy whatever they think is trendy or high demand or a prestigious. Strong marketing can do the job. There is a saying that apple can sell anything for a million and people will still buy it's just the matter of time. Samsung has strong marketing too this time their tag line was something like "10 years perfection" or something I cant remember but tbh I'm sold just by the packaging

But you saying people using low to mid range phone expect battery to last forever and lightning fast is wrong and isn't nice dont you think ? I'm age 22 I may have more small revenues and asset than you when your my age and someone younger may have start earning 5 figure. Theres always someone better

I dont think it's nice to judge someone just because they have used some cheaper brands phone for business phone.

Anyway to answer your question if everyone thinks it's normal for first few days and so be it . I'll just send for warranty or further diagnosis in the future if problem still occur

If you have so much revenues as you claim you wont be complaining about this. Sometimes it could be a simple user mistake like brightness set manual then set to 30% but easier for us to help you is to share your battery usage after 1 day to 2days.

Btw share this page

The revenue is just an analogy my friend , there is a word "may" if you understand. Anyway I've used it more than 2 days however factory reset after another removed the data .

Ps I found the definition of sot

Awwww triggered. Good for you, but some may never make 5figures the rest of their life.

And given that you call your whole experience 'shit', maybe like what people say, shit people encounter shit stuff.
*
Mate I'm not triggered as much as you think I am , I dont really take pride in arguing over some random person from the internet. However I just think you lack the social skill to interact or maybe you're just not understanding my analogy in judging

Anyway have nice day and stay off this thread if you're being triggered on the other end

Samsung phones are known to be not fully optimized. Thats why the battery life is usually average only.

Yes thr will be some clowns who say turn off this and that , reduce resolution to save battery but thats not the point.

If u need to turn off many features whats the point?

Kirin processor is super efficient and its so optimized .Thats why battery life on Huaweis are fantastic. Its the 2nd best optimised phone behind apple. Of cuz nobody beats apple when it comes to optimization.

Alot of samsengfags are gonna defend but thats the fact which they cant accept.
*
Yes I totally agree with you but certain people be talking about flagship phone are meant to be like that lol. Just smh , finally someone who shares same pov as me.

It just isn't even practical enough

Lavalemon Just sell it off. Save your headache and time to even need to argue and post in the forum as you're earning 5-figures. Huawei and Kirin will suit as the owner comes from super rich.

Samsung phones are for samseng owners.

Yo I wont be flexing 5 figure , it's an analogy but seems many cant comprehends theres always another taller mountain analogy.

Well too bad
