was not using a fast lens, the trick is to get the subject in direct sunlight, so ur shutter speed can be increased smile.gif

your D80 did great capturing those high speed movements (or was it becoz of ur skills?), but i do wonder if D80 can capture similar things in low light environment, say in bowling alley?

Off topic : your thread make me hold my planned D40 purchase for a moment...saw too many ppl upgrading from D40/D40x already this few months...

When you're out there with just 50mm and a tele, go abstract nod.gif
my next wishlist will be a 10.5 f2.8 Fisheye lens to do Ultrawides

since u have good abstract shoots, why not give 18-70 f3.5-4.5 a shot... sure get better wideangle abstract shots... rather than jumping gun straight to 10.5 fish eye...

Wide angle using a 18-70mm lens? His D80 kit should already come with the 18-135mm lens. blink.gif

good question... most probably might be the higlights on the web from natural lighting of the rainforest or.. might be due to my warming 81A filter on the tele....

yea, d80 kit is 18-135... but i bought just the body only. i dun really wanna use the kit lens anyway in the near future.
i'm still contemplating on 10-20 sigma or 10.5 fisheye f2.8 nikon lens... but i favour more the 10.5mm fisheye as its a fast lens rolleyes.gif

Quite a number of them are due to camera shake. The macro must be handheld, looks sharp when shrunk, but it's sorta blur in larger or original size.

I love everything from the sentosa island. You definitely need faster lenses, VR can only do you so much good. nod.gif
Get the tokina 12-24mm f4, it is pretty much a pentax lens that run 3 X more than the tokina. You don't really see many fast ultra wide zoom around since they are mostly use for landscape/architecture where you stop the lens down to get an overall sharp picture anyway, and during night time, tripod is the way to go. I like most of the compositions, you are just missing the equipments now.

i agree with you... i'm missing the equipments now... starting to move towards fast lenses and thinking of a monopod or tripod to keep me more steady.

Been away lately, mainly bcoz my cam is out of order and sent to Nikon service center for repair.
Will only pick it up end of the month and will purchase a tamron 17-50 f2.8 for upcoming wedding assignments.
Its been very boring lately for me. Today I tried to do some tribal art ink tattoo on my gf's hand and used her D70s to capture the art with my prime 50mm smile.gif
Will try to make one new design per week if possible blush.gif
