Some contactless (Paywave) transactions? If you are using a
credit card, some (not all) merchants just want to fast-process your payment, they use offline method - ie when you wave your CC, the transaction is automatically approved without going through online authorisation/verification with your credit card issuer (check the "approval code" in the slip), therefore your CC issuer will not know the "offline" transactions until the merchant claim the money (normally 1-2 days later) from your CC issuer. Maybank can notify you only if a transaction is recorded by Maybank.
Credit cards allow "Offline" approval, that is one of the reasons why the credit card numbers are embossed all the while.
It won't happen to the debit card as "Offline" approval is not possible, the merchant need to "lock" your available fund in your current/savings account.
Yes Paywave, since covid19 everything went contactless and i never do PIN anymore. So from my understanding, Maybank will push the missed notifications 1-2days later after merchant claimed the money? Debit Card will always push notification because offline approval not possible, right?
If i may ask, these transaction notifications come with sound for your phone? Or only dropdown banner notification bro?
I just don't feel right with me having to take out my phone only see a banner notification stated a transaction made. No vibration no sound to notify me. And yea, like above discussed, some transaction no notification also. These are just security concern, doesn't seems matter for some, but could be a big help to rectify issue immediately if any fraudulent case happened. *touchwood
