Principal payment on semi flexi will reduced the interest which effects immediately. But do make sure you wrote the sentense "Make Principal Payment" on the slip

So I looked up my PBB semi flexi agreement, and found this. Can I say that this means I can topup whatever amount monthly into the loan account, without notice - and provided that there's no outstanding amount - that topup will go to offset the principal? I also wonder if this means I can do it online via PB eBanking instead thru the counter. But of course, I'll run it over with the branch later. Just want to know if my understanding is somewhat there, or way off

Thanks for highlighting it! Will try when the time comes and update later. But based on your post, I guess it is still manual / over the counter. I assumed you asked them about the possibility of transferring to the loan account online - and they said no? I'd say it would be the same for me then - have to manually go and pay. Urgh. Lastly - I guess one has to do this from the branch the loan was given out right?

My loan was signed with Jalan Ipoh branch, but i can do the principal repayment at sunway branch.

For PB semi-flexi, i have been transferring to loan account number via online banking. No need to go to branch. One downside of their system is that it will pay off the mortgage repayment owed that month first (even if the due date is only end of the month). Anything extra will go into the redraw-able quantity. Then the interest gets calculated at the end of the month on daily rest (check your loan offer letter). You can test the system by transferring a small quantity like rm50 after having paid your mortgage repayment amount that month.
