I have an old mitsubishi mr slim 1.5hp aircond.

It is faulty. Can run for 15 minutes n suddenly it stop and giving a 14 blinking light.

I found the reason online and ask my ac repair tecnician to look at.

He suggest to just change the indoor unit to other type that can easily find the sparepart. What do u guys think?

1. Change all set, budget around 1.3k
2. Ask other technician to come
3. Change the indoor unit, rm480 for a recond

5 years++. Looking for either daikin or panasonic. Its located at the open hall downstairs.

The copper pipe is in the wall, so upgrading to 2hp or inverter might be an issue if need to hack the wall.

You were saying to just change to a new unit?

He made a bypass i dont know what, and the ac works fine. So he suspect is the indoor unit. He quoted 480 for a recond unit.

Not sure. From what i found it can be refrigerant not enuf (but when it work can fell the cold air), unit is short cycling, outdoor fan motor locks up, or the unit has been pumped down for a long time. I dont know what do they mean

Its been 5 year, Idu fault now ... Odu might be soon and no one will know. Yea, some said my ac work for n year and still working but I guess not all ac is the same, even for the same brand. Too many variable, manufacturing, transportation, storage, installation, use, maintenance ... all play a part.

Change the whole unit ... peace of mind.

14 times flash.

If i turn off the main switch and wait for 30 seconds before turn on it will work again for 15-20 minutes before flashing.

erm..........i think the aircon repairman is full of crap.

get another one.

i suspect the aircon filter(filter for the refrigerant) might be blocked. need to replace the outdoor refrigerant filter. that part is generic and can fit for any brand aircon

Just call another one and ask him to check that filter?
