Just curious. If you are retired (at any age) and no longer work and don't earn any income, can you still do self-contribution to EPF (subject to the maximum of RM 60k).
Source of fund could be from FD interest or kids giving pocket money.

On 17th Feb I did self-contribution to my EPF account. As of today, 1 March, it still isn't reflected. This is the first time that it doesn't show. What is the best way of getting this resolved? Through the banks or through EPF?

QUOTE(blackjack @ Mar 2 2022, 07:21 PM) I found out that there is a way to find out. Don't need to wait till 6/3 as stated by EPF. But is for contribution amount only excluding the 2021 dividend just declared today. After you log into your EPF account, go to the withdrawal menu and click the withdrawal eligibility menu, you should find your 2022 self-contributed amount is included in the amount you are eligible to withdraw. Hope this helps. Thanks Blackjack

What happens if you do more than RM 60k self contribution? What happens at 60,001 onwards?

QUOTE(MUM @ Mar 8 2022, 01:01 PM) previously mentioned by forummers,...the whole deposit of that deposits that adds up over 60k will be refunded to you.... just not sure of now,....will they forfeit it till you go there to ask for it?? Thanks. I think it is probably time to petition for a change to this 60k limit. Increase it as there is a lot of press encouraging members to top-up self contribution. Also, it will replenish EPF coffers faster due to the major drawdown the last year. Ideally, it should be unlimited. But in reality, it will be capped. Maybe an extra 60k to make it 120k?
