I am surprised until today no news if the Budget 2023 proposal of expanding the RM3,000 life insurance tax relief to include EPF self-contribution (for salaried employees).
Anyone knows anything about it? I'm itchy to pump in the balance of my life insurance quota to EPF. |

The YA2023 tax changes as presented in Budget 2023 had been gazetted on 31 May 2023. https://lom.agc.gov.my/ilims/upload/portal/...I/Act%20845.pdf Currently both mandatory and voluntary employee portion of EPF can be claimed as tax relief along with the mandatory contribution to EPF with the limit of RM4,000. Voluntary contribution to EPF is now combined with the tax relief on life insurance premium with the limit of RM3,000. Therefore, along with maximum tax relief of RM4,000 an additional RM3,000 can also be claimed with regards to voluntary contribution to EPF. This treatment also applies to civil servants with pension schemes. Wedchar2912 and nexona88 liked this post

For those who are not maxing out RM3k life insurance, pls do self-contribution to EPF as you can claim tax relief under life insurance category yea. Ayambetul liked this post

Will those of us who want to remain on the current system be forced to adopt Account 3? |
