Self contribution made on 2nd March is not reflected at the latest statement (post dividend) yet. Not at the withdrawal eligibility too  hmm.gif
*
It's normal, check your app on maximum withdrawal under "migrate", "retire" etc. It will be reflected.

Every year from 1st Jan onwards, you won't see the updates in the statement until dividend is updated, which was 12am this morning for this year.

Check now and you can. See everything now.

Really dont have. I used the same way as I did 2 years ago. Transfer using CIMB Clicks, the EPF account is still saved as favourite. Luckily just few hundred to test. Will contact EPF.
*
You transferred when? If last 2-3 days, wait a bit lah.

C64, do you still remember???
When last time you kena, did they just refund the money that exceeded the 60k sum or they refund all money from the last deposits that caused the sum to be over 60k...
Ex: 40k deposited earlier, then deposit 25k again months later (same year) ... Did they refund you the 5k (5k was over the 60k limits) or the refund you the whole 25k?
*
Sorry, can't remember in detail...I overpaid RM500 I think...but maybe that 500 ngam ngam is what I put in....

so, out of curiosity - what happens when we exceed 100 year old age?  blink.gif
*
No more dividend. So you can take out the money and invest it elsewhere.

QUOTE(Wedchar2912 @ Mar 11 2022, 04:04 PM)
unless there is a miracle cure or a fountain of youth type remedy, I would think the majority would just wish that one is dead at 100 years old.
*
This. Frankly. I don't want to be around by 80. I am hoping 70 already enough.

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Mar 23 2022, 03:08 PM)
Contribution via CIMB clicks is capped at RM5k per transfer. Is there such limit per transaction for Public Bank? Thank you
*
Last time in Maybank classic, there is such issue. But the new Maybank UI has no such limitation. I think i have used Public Bank before, also no such issue.

QUOTE(Wedchar2912 @ Mar 23 2022, 03:16 PM)
same limit using Maybank.

just have to do it x12 times
*
Only for classic Maybank. Use the new one lah. Much better.

As long as you are 16 years old, you can open an EPF account to deposit up to 60k MYR a year and enjoy diviends. However, your money can only be withdrawn at the age of 55 or if you meet EPF's withdrawal criteria.

EPF "doesn't care where the funds come from".
*
16 years old better not lah. Unless PaMa got tens of millions dunno where to put then sumbat some into kid's account in EPF as piggy bank. We don't know whether policy will change due to volatile political climates. For soon to retire oldfags like me, then ok lah.

i think every working parents will have some savings for the kids no? obviously ppl want flexibility to withdraw... but if you don't need to, then epf is a good piggy bank

after all, if the kid starts working in malaysia must have epf anyways... if kid goes overseas he can withdraw for education, and if/when he finds job outside he probably doesn't need to use the savings in epf...
*
The thing is, with our current accelerating volatile politics, i have no confidence in EPF for our future generations 30-40 years down the road when they retire. Better to have liquid cash and do their own investments.

For me,... If I can,... And if I want to,...
I would let them try something more volatile like UT or robo.... (or any platform that requires little studies & time to monitor)
The key thing is I want them to accumulate investing experience. I think, no amount of prior reading up and accumulating of knowledge can compare with actual investing experience which can only be built up by using their own money to invest. They have to experience the emotional pull that comes from market ups and downs and learn how to handle their emotions during those times. And I think learning from mistakes made is the greatest teacher."
And then followed by how to detect & avoid being scammed like examples, Macau scams or investment scams and etc
*
Which is why i teached my kid paper trading on NYSE since 15 yrs old.

QUOTE(dwRK @ Mar 28 2022, 09:41 AM)
i'd let them learn ta... do forex and crypto trading...  rclxms.gif

Forex and cryptos are gambling and speculation. I won't recommendit as "investment". I have made like 15% recently on crypto on a trade. Doesn't change my opinion it is gambling and a money game

i wanna teach them... survival laugh.gif

forex can be a long term investment... with stocks you are "betting" on the company's continued good management and growth... with forex, this is the country's monetary policy and gdp... you can speculate and gamble on stock just as easily on forex

crypto covers broad range... from ponzi scams to legitimate companies riding the new wave... just like the dotcom boom and bust, I expect some good things to emerge from the eventual shakeout... for now it's mostly speculative, but... make hay while the sun shines wink.gif
*
This is true. Once regulation kicks in, they can forget about the old days. Even now it is not possible to get those 10000% profit already. Even want to move 100% already impossible like BTC.

For stocks, you don't simply bet. There are information like Financial reports which you need to digest and understanding of the business the company is running. It is predictable at least with some factual and relevant data. Unlike cryptos, which is pure speculation at this point with nothing to back it up.

I buy a stock in AAPL, i can be assured of assets like IPs, a whole bunch of smart people working and an army of zombies Ifags will continue to bayar ufti to Apple. Predictable and repeat stream of revenue. Very real.

This is also one of the lessons need to teach my kid. Stock trading is also a psychological thing.

Greed and FOMO are two criterias for sure disasters.

ya... trading is high in psychology, emotion and herd mentality... I use indicators not because I trust them, but because everyone is using it... and thus everyone expects something to happen at certain points... the fun for me is to try out-wit these people... for me trading is a cat n mouse puzzle game laugh.gif

the other biggest lesson imho is capital preservation and risk management... hedging and take profits are just as important...
*
Yes, indicators are charts are sort of self fulfilling prophecy. Everyone is using it. so behaviourial pattern is expected. However, sometimes adhoc events happens and there is a change in the pattern of behaviour. I have no intention of outsmarting anyone. My objective is to win and make decent profits.

And yes, capital preservation is extremely important. Which also comes back to Greed and FOMO. If you are level headed, you will not be reckless.

Honestly, money is not my main priority when doing stocks trading. Money should be means to an end. Winning and seeing my goal gets nearer is what motivates me. Money is just the result and a figure in cyberspace.

Cheers!

My wild guess, most probably they will just refund you thru the bank a/c,
*
Can confirmed this. I have accidentally exceed the limit one or 2 years ago. Money just kicked back to my account, that's all.
