Is it a good idea to put in self contribution even if total funds is <MYR1mn? Then technically money is stuck until 1mn/1.3mn/55yrs is reached, whichever earlier..

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Sep 13 2025, 03:23 PM) Unless you got huge emergency $$$ Park elsewhere.... Just not easy to find relatively lower risk investment that can do better than EPF. Perhaps REITs or US/Global ETFs but even then return is not very certainI won't suggest you to maximize the self contribution.... You need to have diversified portfolio.... Above 55yo can consider EPF as high yield savings account ☺️ |

QUOTE(virtualgay @ Sep 24 2025, 05:34 PM) just spend some of my dividend from last year How old is considered old? haha. I'd say once large commitments, i.e. mortgage, kids are out of the way.. so still long way to go for me..spending money to visit great wall of china realize that i am too old this tells me to share to those young ones out there "money spend is your money, money inside epf is not your money" now old want to spend money also susah |
