This year the amount transferred can be seen added to the total balance unlike previous years where it only shows up at "Amount eligible to withdraw " or after dividends declared

This is is strange...hmm.gif Anyone knows what's the difference? Or it's just for easier reference so you know the money came from which channel?
*
I see like no difference. Only thing they are separated. Both count towards the self-contribution limit hmm.gif

To all eagerly waiting for 100k contribution limit, how much extra do you plan to contribute? The way I see it here, quite a few forummers blow like they have rm 1mil in the sideline waiting to deposit into epf account

I can self contribute another 40k only...

Meaning total u can contribute 100k?

Or 40k total from the 100k "new" quota?

Anyway...
Not everyone can fulfill the 100k...
See your financial strength 😁
Different people different level strength 🙏

I remember reading some comments that one should put in money at the end of the month. My self contribution was reflected on July 1st. Does that mean I won’t get any interest for the whole month of July?

You will get 1 day interest for July. Unfortunately

When did you make the contribution?
*
One day?
I transferred on 30th June.
I transferred another sum today as well

Any contributions during the month only start earnings dividend/interest on the last day of that month.
Irrespective the actual day the monthly contribution is deposited.
Thereon, dividend earning/interest is calculated daily based on your account balances.

The date that matter is the date reflected/credited in EPF, not the day you transfer from your bank or i-akaun app.
If you example, you transferred on 30th June, it was reflected in EPF on 1st July.
This contribution will starting earning dividend from 31st July onward.

It will only apply to new members and those with balances below a certain threshold (i.e. 240K)

Hopefully you are right. I think they should be more careful in how they word this. Now everybody is spooked

So I want to self contribute in Jan. Should I put in beginning of Jan or end of January? I remember reading that beginning of the month don't get any interest?

Update - ok I read back a few posts. It seems I only get 1 day of interest for the month i deposit. Does that mean if I deposit early of the month, I would rugi cause it doesn't matter as I only get 1 day interest? Why like that ah? ☹️

Why like that?
Because it's EPF rules... Also because employee & employers contribution also comes late... Not early of the month....

So like many of us mentioned...
Last week of the month sufficient enough...

Dare to risk... Can do 3 day before month end 😁
*
ok will do last week of the month.... biggrin.gif

I remember got some difference between contributing using EPF App vs from bank but cant remember which is easier and faster. Anyone come to any conclusion on this?
I seem to remember like do from Maybank, you can do one shot 60k last time, no need worry about any limit settings. From EPF app, you need to abide by FPX settings etc

I start putting in today and for the next few days and last contribution on Thursday. Hopefully can make it. Using EPF app to FPX. Should take 2 days, 3 the most to appear in my EPF

The best thing about the new app, now got this Voluntary Contribution section that will confirmed that you had contributed with the amount and other details. Not like last time, once transferred you don’t know anything until three four days later. And beginning of the year lagi teruk, the amount won’t show up until they declare dividends. Now with this confirmation at least you have a peace of mind. If you are using the old app, go to Add Contribution and select View History. That will also give you confirmation of your contributions
One thing though - it says “ You can still add RMxxxxx to your savings for this year” the actual figure is delayed by one day so not real time

No offence to you but I've just realized that we could deposit straight from kwsp portal, but how come I don't see ppl recommend this way?

if use KWSP app, got FPX limit. if use bank's portal, one shot 100K also can.
