Is it possible for a Company to issue a Cheque (to EPF) for an Employee's "Self-Contribution"?

If yes, who is the Cheque Addressed to - to EPF or to the Employee?

Quick one,

Does the maximum self-contribution amount of RM100K start this year(YA22) or does it only begin in YA23 since it's a budget 2023 thing?

Govt raises voluntary EPF contribution cap to RM100,000 in Budget 2023 (via The Edge Markets)
From that posts, it says :

1) The government has raised the cap for voluntary retirement contribution for Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributors to RM100,000
2) The second para, "The proposal comes as EPF also reported ....."

So has it been raised? or is it just a proposal ? rclxub.gif

I think it's confirmed right? Reported in Budget 2023. Nobody objects, Budget passed.

Yeap, in short - we can self-contribute up to RM100K this year? Cause EPF site still shows the max cap at 60K blush.gif

hey there!
from what I understand the regular EPF contribution 11% + 13% -
So if i earn 2,000 wage, my cut of EPF is 220 and company will bear 260, net 480 into my epf.

What does it mean by "EPF Borne By Employer", does the company bear the full 480 for me? and on my end i don't need to cut the 220 from my wage?

EPF borned by employer is a fixed perquisite subject to epf again.
Cost to employer = $2000+220+260=2480

The employer need to adjust your gross pay to $2194.

You will contribute $242 & take home $1952

Thee employer contribute $286 & total cost of employer remain at $2480

I think there is no way you can receive net pay of $2000

neat! thank you for explaining, appreciate it notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

oh man, my math is not mathing sweat.gif Are the $242 (11%) and $286 (13%) derived from 2,200(or 2,220?), which in turn is derived from the base wage 2,000 + 220? sweat.gif

but generally get the gist of it tho, thanks again notworthy.gif

If you earn 2000
Your contribution is 2000*11%
Your Employer Contribution is 2000*13%

I'm not sure where the 220 come from.

From RM2194 in his example.

x + 13% of x = RM2480
x = ~RM2194

so its a rounded-up figure then, got it - thanks all notworthy.gif
